All glories to you.On this most auspicious day being your divine appearance, we are humblytrying to present a small token of appreciation of your transcendentalqualities which are as deep as an ocean.Just as Lord Ananta Sesa has up to date could not still finish describing theunfathomable qualities of Lord Krsna with his many thousands of mouthsspread through his many thousands of his hoods, similarly we too find itimpossible to come to the end of your exalted qualities.This is in fact a privilege for us to glorify you to our hearts’ content as bydoing so we indeed become purified as it is said in Srimad Bhagavatam12.10.25.śravaṇād darśanād vāpimahā-pātakino 'pi vaḥśudhyerann antya-jāś cāpikim u sambhāṣaṇādibhiḥ“Even the worst sinners and social outcastes are purified just by hearingabout or seeing personalities like you. Imagine, then, how purified theybecome by directly speaking with you.”Your qualities are so magnanimous that so many tried to imitate but only toprove themselves as utter failures as they could hardly come anywhere nearto even a fraction of your glories.Glow worms may try to shine only in the absence of your divine sun but assoon as one just hears about you it immediately nullifies their position andrelegates them to some embarrassing situation with utter humiliation.Your divine qualities are like lines etched on a stone and cannot be erasedand they continue to grow and shine brilliantly as it is said in the Bhagavatam3.25.38na karhicin mat-parāḥ śānta-rūpenaṅkṣyanti no me 'nimiṣo leḍhi hetiḥyeṣām ahaṁ priya ātmā sutaś casakhā guruḥ suhṛdo daivam iṣṭam5
Vyasa Puja HomagesThe Lord continued: “My dear mother, devotees who receive suchtranscendental opulences are never bereft of them; neither weapons nor thechange of time can destroy such opulences. Because the devotees acceptMe as their friend, their relative, their son, preceptor, benefactor andSupreme Deity, they cannot be deprived of their possessions at any time.”Year by year your supreme position is becoming more and more prominentand clear and many are seeking and taking refuge in them very dearly with alltheir hearts and souls.Dear Srila Prabhupada, you are not sent here by Krsna just for the period ofyour earthly pastimes but your glories are indeed ever increasing just aswhen Lord Krsna ended his divine pastimes His Bhagavatam continued togive the divine vision. Srimad Bhagavatam (1.3.43) says:kṛṣṇe sva-dhāmopagatedharma-jñānādibhiḥ sahakalau naṣṭa-dṛśām eṣapurāṇārko 'dhunoditaḥ“This Bhāgavata Purāṇa is as brilliant as the sun, and it has arisen just afterthe departure of Lord Kṛṣṇa to His own abode, accompanied by religion,knowledge, etc. Persons who have lost their vision due to the densedarkness of ignorance in the age of Kali shall get light from this Purāṇa.”Similarly we too are getting this divine vision simply by strictly adhering toyour divine instruction that you have so kindly have left behind through themany purports, lectures, correspondences, talks etc.tvaṁ naḥ sandarśito dhātrādustaraṁ nistitīrṣatāmkaliṁ sattva-haraṁ puṁsāṁkarṇa-dhāra ivārṇavam“We think that we have met Your Goodness by the will of providence, just sothat we may accept you as captain of the ship for those who desire to crossthe difficult ocean of Kali, which deteriorates all the good qualities of a humanbeing.” — Srimad Bhagavatam 1.1.22.In fact it is said to get a Father or a Mother that we can get in any species oflife but to get a bona fide spiritual master — a pure devotee as yourself — isa very rare opportunity and is not possible unless we had done heaps andheaps of pious activities. So please, Srila Prabhupada, kindly continue beingthe eternal captain of our ship.6
Vyasa Puja Homagesdaṣṭaṁ janaṁ sampatitaṁ bile 'sminkālāhinā kṣudra-sukhoru-tarṣamsamuddharainaṁ kṛpayāpavargyairvacobhir āsiñca mahānubhāva“O almighty Lord, please be merciful and uplift this hopeless living entity whohas fallen into the dark hole of material existence, where the snake of timehas bitten him. In spite of such abominable conditions, this poor living entityhas tremendous desire to relish the most insignificant material happiness.Please save me, my Lord, by pouring down the nectar of Your instructions,which awaken one to spiritual freedom.” — Srimad Bhagavatam 11.19.10To prove that your causeless mercy is very authentic and fully backed by theLord we can see that by strictly following your divine instruction one certainlymakes rapid progress. Srimad Bhagavatam 10.2.31 says:svayaṁ samuttīrya sudustaraṁ dyumanbhavārṇavaṁ bhīmam adabhra-sauhṛdāḥbhavat-padāmbhoruha-nāvam atra tenidhāya yātāḥ sad-anugraho bhavān“O Lord, who resemble the shining sun, You are always ready to fulfill thedesire of Your devotee, and therefore You are known as a desire tree[vāñchā-kalpataru]. When ācāryas completely take shelter under Your lotusfeet in order to cross the fierce ocean of nescience, they leave behind onearth the method by which they cross, and because You are very merciful toYour other devotees, You accept this method to help them.”As we have seen too on the contrary anyone trying to deny taking shelter ofyour divine feet suffer terribly. Srimad Bhagavatam 10.87.33 says:vijita-hṛṣīka-vāyubhir adānta-manas tura-gaṁya iha yatanti yantum ati-lolam upāya-khidaḥvyasana-śatānvitāḥ samavahāya guroś caraṇaṁvaṇija ivāja santy akṛta-karṇa-dharā jaladhau“The mind is like an impetuous horse that even persons who have regulatedtheir senses and breath cannot control. Those in this world who try to tamethe uncontrolled mind, but who abandon the feet of their spiritual master,encounter hundreds of obstacles in their cultivation of various distressfulpractices. O unborn Lord, they are like merchants on a boat in the ocean whohave failed to employ a helmsman.”Dear Srila Prabhupada, on the other hand just by depending on you solely we7
Vyasa Puja Homageswere able to cross the many obstacles that we are continually facing tospread your divine Mission just as Krsna says in the Gita 18.58mac-cittaḥ sarva-durgāṇimat-prasādāt tariṣyasiatha cet tvam ahaṅkārānna śroṣyasi vinaṅkṣyasi“If you become conscious of Me, you will pass over all the obstacles ofconditioned life by My grace. If, however, you do not work in suchconsciousness but act through false ego, not hearing Me, you will be lost.”What to speak, even a slight deviation from this understanding will simplycreate disaster in our Vedic studies and austerities.Although you may not be physically here with us but simply by rememberingand following your divine instruction that you have so kindly given us we arefinding extreme solace and great happiness within our self and it is alsogiving us great enthusiasm to execute your desire of spreading your Krsnaconsciousness movement through out the world.SB 1.15.27: Now I am attracted to those instructions imparted to me by thePersonality of Godhead [Govinda] because they are impregnated withinstructions for relieving the burning heart in all circumstances of time andspace.SB 1.15.28: Sūta Gosvāmī said: Thus being deeply absorbed in thinking ofthe instructions of the Lord, which were imparted in the great intimacy offriendship, and in thinking of His lotus feet, Arjuna's mind became pacifiedand free from all material contamination.SB 1.15.29: Arjuna's constant remembrance of the lotus feet of Lord ŚrīKṛṣṇa rapidly increased his devotion, and as a result all the trash in histhoughts subsided.So dear Srila Prabhupada, kindly bless us that we would be able to similarlycling on to your divine instruction life after life and not stray even an inch fromthem by having them tightly bounded around our neck.Please bless us on this most auspicious day that we can stay forever as yourmost humble servant of the servant.Your servant,Sundar Gopal DasPresident, SKM SingaporeISKM Singapore8

Vyasa Puja HomagesToday we gather to celebrate the appearance of Om VishnupadaParamahamsa Parivrajakacarya, His Divine Grace A.C. BhaktivedantaSwami Prabhupada.120 Years, in the city of Calcutta, His Divine Grace appeared ,on theorder of Lord Caitanya, to reclaim the fallen souls back to the abode ofLord Sri Krishna.Srila Prabhupada, out of His causeless mercy, left India to fulfil Hisspiritual master's order: "To spread Krishna Consciousness to thewestern world.” Although advanced in age and possesing nothing but afew items, Srila Prabhupada displayed His unflinching faith in both theLord and His spiritual master. Manifesting such courage, he left the holyland of India to come to the degraded lands of the mlecchas.Arriving at Boston Harbor on September 18, 1965, Prabhupadawrote this prayer.“My dear Lord Kṛṣṇa, You are so kind upon this useless soul, but I donot know why You have brought me here. Now You can do whateverYou like with me.How will I make them understand this message of Kṛṣṇaconsciousness? I am very unfortunate, unqualified and the most fallen.Therefore I am seeking Your benediction so that I can convince them,for I am powerless to do so on my own.”In these nectarean words, you have displayed your perfectionalunderstanding of the teaching of Lord Caitanya — being humbler thanthe grass is an eternal attribute of your Divine personality. Being aneternal associate of The Lord, you are equal in quality with theSupreme, in fact you are no different than Lord Sri Krishna, as the LordHimself spoke (SB.11.17.27):"One should know the ācārya as Myself and never disrespect him in28
