When you boot the phone for the first time, the AutoProvisioning screen displays Do you want toactivate Auto Provisioning now?, press oneof the following: Yes: To connect to the Device Enrollment Servicesserver to obtain the provisioning server address andignore the provisioning server address from theDHCP. No: To obtain the provisioning server address fromthe DHCP server.In case of a time out, and the DHCP does not providethe provisioning server address, the phone selectsYes.If the connection to Device Enrollment Services issuccessful, and the phone receives the provisioningserver address, the phone continues to boot and notprompt you for the provisioning server address.If the connection to Device Enrollment Services issuccessful, and the phone does not receive theprovisioning server address from Device EnrollmentServices, the phone prompts you for an Enrollmentcode. Contact your administrator for an Enrollmentcode. When you enter the valid Enrollment code, thephone continues to boot and not prompt you for theprovisioning server address.If you do not have an Enrollment code, press Cancel.The phone continues to boot using the DHCP.The phone displays the Starting message. If thephone does not receive the provisioning serveraddress from the Device Enrollment Services or theDHCP server, the phone displays the Enterprovisioning details screen.2. On Enter provisioning details screen, press one of thefollowing: Config: To enter the provisioning server address. Never: To never prompt for the provisioning serveraddress. Cancel: To cancel the prompt and display the Loginscreen.3. After you have pressed Config, enter the provisioningserver address in the Address field.The address is an alphanumeric URL like http://myfileserver.com/j100/.Tip:To enter the dot symbol (.) in the field, press thealphanumeric soft key to toggle to the ABC mode.To enter the forward slash symbol (/) in the field,press the / soft key.4. (Optional) Enter the Group number.Obtain the Group number from your systemadministrator. The value ranges from 0 to 999. 0 is thedefault value. If you do not enter any value in thisfield, the phone uses the default value.5. Dial the emergency number by using the dial pad.Declining a callYou can decline an incoming call when you do not want toanswer a call. The incoming call is declined depending onthe Call decline policy set by your administrator. Contact2

your administrator to enable this feature for your extensionand also to know about the Call decline policy.Ensure that the feature is activated by the administrator.Contact your administrator for details.1.2.On the incoming call screen, press Decline soft key.The call is declined. Depending on your Call declinepolicy, the caller receives one of the following alert: An audio message alert A busy tone alertAnswering a call when on another callYou can receive a call on a secondary call appearanceonly if the call appearance is free.Press one of the following: The Answer soft key OKThe phone puts the first call on hold and moves to thesecond call.Adding a person to an active callYou can add participants to an active call to set up aconference call.Start a call.1. Press Recents.2. Scroll to the required number, and press Contact.3. In the First name and Last name fields, type therelevant information.The phone assigns the extension number to Lastname. You can remove the extension number fromthis field and add other information.4. Press Save.Combining contactsUse this procedure to merge the phone number of thecurrent contact with the existing local contact.Ensure the Contacts list is not empty.1. Press Contacts.2. (Optional) To navigate through Main menu, do thefollowing:a. Scroll to Applications, and press Select.b. Scroll to Contacts, and press Select.3. Scroll to the contact that you want to combine, andpress Details More Combine.The select mode displays the Contacts list without thecurrent content.4. Scroll to EC500, and press Select.Long-term acoustic exposure protectionAvaya J100 Series IP Phones have the long-term acousticexposure protection to prevent the users from gettingacoustic shocks. This feature reduces the loud volume ofthe conversations on the phone call to permissibleacoustic limits. The user can set the permissible acousticlimit to dynamic or predefined static values. If a dynamicsetting is selected, the feature activates itself andgradually reduces the loud volume of the phoneconversations to prevent from reaching the damagingdecibel levels.Long-term acoustic exposure protection feature satisfiesOSHA, ETSI and employee health safety requirements.Important:Only L100 Series Headsets with RJ9 connectorsupport long-term acoustic exposure protection whenthe headset profile is set to Profile1.Configuring Long term acoustic protectionLong-term acoustic protection feature reduces the loudvolume of the conversations on the phone call topermissible acoustic limits, you can configure the longterm acoustic exposure protection for your headset.3

Ensure you set the headset profile to Profile1, and useL100 Series Headsets.1.2.3.4.Press Main menu.Scroll to Settings, and press Select.Scroll to Audio settings, and press Select.Scroll to Long term acoustic protection, and pressSelect.5. Choose one of the following and press Select: Default : Sets the acoustic protection values to oneof the following options that your administrator sets:- Dynamic- 8 hours- 4 hours- OffAdministrator configured value will be chosen asthe default value. Off: Sets the acoustic protection off. Dynamic: Sets the acoustic feature to Dynamic,which activates itself and gradually reduces theloud volume of the phone conversations to preventfrom reaching the damaging decibel levels. 4 hours: Sets the acoustic protection for 4 hours. 8 hours: Sets the acoustic protection to 8 hours.6. Press Save.Making a priority callUse the Priority Calling feature to provide a special type ofinternal call alerting for the users. The called party hears adistinctive ringing when the calling party uses PriorityCalling.1. Before dialing, press Main menu.2. Scroll to Features, and press Select.3. If necessary, scroll down to Priority Call, and pressOK, or just press the corresponding line button.4. Enter the extension you want to call.5. Press Enter or OK to immediately start dialing thepriority call to the extension where the callappearance will show the incoming call as a prioritycall.Retrieving a voice messageUse this procedure to listen to your voicemail messages. Ensure that the system administrator configures thevoicemail for your extension. Obtain the user ID and password of your voicemailfrom your system administrator.1. To log in to your voicemail, press the Message button.2. Press Enter.Call TransferWith the Call Transfer feature, you can transfer your call toanother destination number.The types of Call Transfer are: Consultative transfer: Transferring a call byconnecting a call with the transfer recipient. When you set the network mode, note the SSID, asthis is the name of the Wi-Fi network that the phonewill attempt to connect to.
