MAIN FEATURESSuperb Picture QualityThe BRC-300 incorporates three 1/4.7-typeAdvanced HADTM CCD sensors with a total of1,070,000 pixels. This camera deliversoutstanding picture quality with high resolutionand accurate color reproduction. FeaturingSony’s Advanced HAD technology thatproduces images with low noise, the BRC-300is ideal in low illuminated shootingenvironments or when shooting dark subjects.Sony’s new BRC-300 is a revolutionary all-in-one compactrobotic color video camera system, specially designed for remotevideo shooting applications. The BRC-300 incorporates three1/4.7-type Advanced HAD CCDs, that provide high-quality andhigh-resolution images in both 4:3 and 16:9 modes. With its high-accuracy and wide-range Pan/Tilt/Zoom capability, the BRC-300 precisely captures the right points of the viewablearea surrounding the camera to meet your needs. You can alsoeasily operate the camera with Sony’s optional RM-BR300Remote Control Unit, which is equipped with an ergonomicjoystick and feature-rich control panel. And when used withoptional BRBK-303 Optical Multiplex Card and BRU-300 OpticalMultiplex Unit, the BRC-300 is capable of being controlled froma long distance with a single fiber optic cable connection. The BRC-300 also comes equipped with a card slot that acceptsoptional interface cards, enabling the camera to be integratedinto every kind of system from S-Video to RGB, i.LINK DVinterface, SDI or even fiber. In addition, two remote controlinterfaces (VISCA protocol) are available to provide additionalexpandability and flexibility for your remote shooting applications. With a number of convenient features such as its E:Flipfunction for desktop or ceilingmount flexibility, and its compactbody, the BRC-300 is ideal for usein a wide range of remote shootingapplications such as houses ofworship, distance learning, corporate training, high-endvideoconference, event shooting, and cable TV broadcasting.Note: in this brochure, “BRC-300” refers to both the BRC-300(NTSC model) and the BRC-300P (PAL model), and “BRU-300” refersto both the BRU-300 (NTSC model) and the BRU-300P (PAL model).2High-performanceSony Pan/Tilt/Zoom MechanismThe BRC-300 covers a wide shooting rangewith its highly accurate Pan/Tilt mechanism. Ithas one of the widest ranges in its class: a panrange of 340 degrees, and a tilt range of120 degrees. The 340-degree pan range canbe covered in 8 seconds, while the 120- degreetilt range can be covered in 4.5 seconds. With its newly developed Pan/Tilt mechanism, the BRC-300 can capture not only fast movingobjects, but also slow moving objects withoutvibration. What’s more, the BRC-300 incorporates a12x optical auto-focus zoom lens, allowing fora zoom capability of up to 48x when used incombination with its 4x digital zoom.

Precision 16:9 TechnologyRS-232C/RS-422 Remote Control(VISCA protocol)The BRC-300 captures images in both 4:3 and16:9 aspect ratios, and with its 3 CCDtechnology, is able to achieve a wide angle ofview in the 16:9 mode.Due to the greater number of pixels used in the16:9 aspect ratio, the BRC-300 generatesextremely high-resolution images as comparedto conventional cameras.Conventional CameraThe BRC-300 can be controlled by externaldevices such as the optional RM-BR300 RemoteControl Unit thanks to Sony’s well-knownVISCA protocol. All local controls such asPan/Tilt/Zoom, camera settings, and six presetscan be easily accessed, and up to sevencameras can be daisy-chained and controlled bythe RM-BR300 Remote Control Unit.BRC-3001152 pixelsTotal effective pixelson CCD648 pixels16:9 picture image areaLess pixels are used toreproduce the 16:9 areaAngle of view in 16:9 mode(Conventional Camera)4:3 picture image areaAngle of view in 4:3 mode16:9 picture image areaThe higher "Mega Pixel" countallows a sufficient amount ofpixels to be used in 16:9 modeWider angle of view in 16:9 mode(BRC-300)Versatile Video OutputsThe BRC-300 can be used with a range ofversatile optional interface cards allowing forflexible analog and digital systemconfigurations. Choose from the followinginterface cards to configure your individualrequirements: Analog RGB/Component: BRBK-301* SDI: BRBK-302* DV i.LINK interfaceThanks to these convenient options, theBRC-300 truly functions as an all-in-one,compact robotic camera.* Can be installed into the both BRC-300 and BRU-300.Fig. 1 16:9 aspect ratio3

OTHER CONVENIENT FEATURESCeiling or Desktop Mount InstallationThanks to Sony’s E:Flip function, theBRC-300 can be ceiling mounted using thesupplied ceiling mount kit or can also be usedon the desktop.Six PresetsVarious camera settings such as Pan/Tilt/Zoomand focus can be programmed in up to sixpresets per camera.Multi-Function IR RemoteCommander UnitBasic camera settings such as Pan/Tilt/Zoomfunctions and six-preset patterns can becontrolled from an supplied IR Remotecommander.BRC-300 and supplied IR Remote commander4Ergonomically Designed RemoteControl Unit (RM-BR300)All camera settings including the Pan/Tilt/Zoomfunction and six preset patterns can becontrolled from the optional RM-BR300 RemoteControl Unit. The ergonomic joystick designand feature-rich control panel provide superboperability in various remote-shootingapplications.Optical Multiplex Unit (BRU-300)The optional BRU-300 Multiplex Unit receivesand converts uncompressed digital raw datafrom the camera using the optional multiplexinterface card into any video output. The unithas two built-in interface card slots and can beconnected to the camera with a single fibercable that extends up to 1,500 feet for easyinstallation. The BRU-300 also converts controldata from the RM-BR300 to optical, andtransmits this data to the camera.RM-BR300 control panel
