Quickstops, excessive force,and uneven surfacesmay cause the productand cart combination tooverturn.10111213Power Sources — The CA-570 CompactPower Adapter should be operated onlyfrom the type of power source indicatedon the marking label. If you are not sureof the type of power supply to yourhome, consult your product dealer orlocal power company. Regarding otherpower sources such as battery power,refer to instructions in this manual.Polarization — The CA-570 CompactPower Adapter is equipped with apolarized 2-prong plug (a plug havingone blade wider than the other).The 2-prong polarized plug will fit intothe power outlet only one way. This is asafety feature. If you are unable to insertthe plug fully into the outlet, try reversingthe plug. If the plug still fails to fit,contact your electrician to replace yourobsolete outlet. Do not defeat the safetypurpose of the polarized plug.Power Cord Protection — Power cordsshould be routed so that they are notlikely to be walked on or pinched byitems placed upon or against them. Payparticular attention to plugs and thepoint from which the cords exit theproduct.Outdoor Antenna Grounding — If anoutside antenna is connected to theproduct, be sure the antenna isgrounded so as to provide someprotection against voltage surges andbuilt-up static charges. Section 810 ofthe National Electrical Code, ANSI /NFPA No. 70—1984, providesinformation with respect to propergrounding of the mast and supportingstructure, grounding of the lead-in wireto an antenna discharge unit, size ofgrounding conductors, location ofantenna discharge unit, connection togrounding electrodes, and requirementsfor the grounding electrode. When the power-supply cord or plugis damaged.b. If any liquid has been spilled onto, orobjects have fallen into, the product.c. If the product has been exposed torain or water.d. HD video is composed of1,080 horizontal lines - that is more than twice thenumber of horizontal lines and approximately 4 timesthe number of pixels in standard-definition TVbroadcasts - resulting in eye-catching colors and richlydetailed video recordings.1,080 lines“Full HD 1080” refers to Canon camcorders compliant with highdefinition video composed of 1,080 vertical pixels (scanning lines).What is Cinema Mode?Give your recordings a cinematic look by using the [CINE MODE] recordingprogram (51). Combine this recording program with the 24 fps progressive framerate [PF24] (46) to get the enhanced effect of the 24p Cinema Mode (52).How does the built-in hard disk enrich your shootingexperience?Because this camcorder automatically records video in unused space on the harddisk, you need not worry about accidentally recording over important videos. Not onlythat, you can shoot up to 9 1/2 hours of video in XP mode (34). In addition, youcan use the software on the Corel Application Disc CD-ROM to transfer your videosto a computer to back up, play and edit them. Make sure to follow the points below when usingyour camcorder. For more details, refer to Handling Precautions (99).Back up your recordings periodicallyMake sure to transfer your movies to anexternal device such as a computer ordigital video recorder (40) and backthem up on a regular basis.Do not subject the camcorder tovibrations or strong impactsThe hard disk is a high-precision device.Vibrations, strong impacts or dropping thecamcorder may result in permanent dataloss.Keep the drop sensor activatedwhenever possibleThe drop sensor (47) detects when thecamcorder is dropped and activates aprotection mechanism to help prevent harddisk damage. Turning this function off willdisable the mechanism. Even if thisfunction is set to [ON] and thecamcorder is dropped, hard disk damagecan occur.Do not disconnect the power sourcewhile the HDD access indicator is on orflashingTo prevent hard disk damage, do notdisconnect the power source or turn off thecamcorder while the HDD access indicatoris on or flashing.6

Initializethe hard disk should this happen.Protect personal information on thehard diskWhen the hard disk is initialized or moviesare deleted, stored data is not physicallyerased. Remember this when disposing ofthe camcorder or giving it to anotherperson.7
