Limitorque L120 SeriesMulti-Turn Electric Valve ActuatorsFor a wide range of process applicationsExperience In Motion

Flowserve Limitorque L120 series: A solid recordin demanding applicationsProven performers under the most challengingcircumstances, Limitorque’s L120 actuators are ideal forvalves requiring rotary or linear movement. With eight unit sizes, L120 electric actuators make it easy tomeet or exceed your requirements for positive, dependablevalve actuation.Whether used with gate valves, globe valves, penstocksor sluice gates, versatile L120 Series actuators can bedirect-mounted or combined with the V or SR series bevelgearboxes for any rising or non-rising stem application. When combined with a Limitorque WG or HBC seriesquarter-turn worm gearboxes, L120 actuators can alsobe used to control butterfly, ball and plug valves, as wellas damper drives, flop gates or any other device whichrequires rotary movement.Rugged, reliable and versatile, L120 actuators are provenperformers in challenging applications. Thousandsof L120 actuators are at work in some of the world’smost demanding conditions, where nothing less thanday-after-day dependable operation is acceptable.2L120 actuators are specified for use inpetrochemical, power generation, and water andwaste treatment applications where failure of asingle actuator can be extremely costly evencatastrophic.Solid design and durable construction qualify theL120 actuator for applications involving harshenvironmental conditions. A successful recordwith challenging requirements and compatibilitywith advanced process control systems makeL120 actuators the best combination of proven andleading-edge technologies. Backed by comprehensivetechnical support services, product documentation, and spare parts availability, the L120 series is an easychoice for flexible, dependable valve control.

Low-maintenance requirementsmake the L120 Series ideallysuited for water and wastetreatment applications.L120 actuators meet rigid safetyrequirements and are availablein weatherproof, explosion-proofand submersible configurations. The L120 makes valve control easier forsome of the world’s most demandingcustomers.Petrochemical Installations such as refineries, pipelines, terminals, tank farms, cokers and off-shore platforms rely onthe L120’s safety, endurance and operational efficiencies. TheL120 has network compatibility, explosion-proof certification, and resistance to lightning and EMI.Power Generation plants value the L120’s availability, controls versatility and reliable performance. The L120’srugged design and construction quality stands up tovibration, high-pressure steam and extreme temperatures.Water and Waste Treatment Facilities benefit from theL120’s low-maintenance requirements and modulating controlcapabilities. L120 actuators meet AWWA standards and easilyfit the industry trend toward modern controls networks. Thewide range of options in the L120 Series allows specificationneeds to be met cost-effectively.Designed to provide positive, dependable actuationThe time-tested design and solid construction ofthe L120 Series allow these actuators to handle upto 60 000 ft-lb (81 600 Nm) of torque, and up to500 000 ft-lb (225 000 kg) of thrust. Durable torqueoverload protection is provided in both directionsof valve travel. Rugged enclosures are available inweatherproof, submersible and explosion-proofconfigurations.L120 actuators can also be coupled to gearboxessuch as Limitorque’s V, WG or HBC for motorizedoperation of valves in quarter-turn operation, or multiturn applications for increased torque and/or thrustrequirements.Limitorque’s factories are certified to ISO 9001standards and maintain the highest quality ofperformance throughout the manufacturingprocesses.3

L120 series multi-turn electric valve actuatorsL120-10 through -40 seriesL120-10 through 40 actuators utilize die-cast aluminum housings and compartment covers to maximize performance in a reducedweight design. All metallic gearing is lubricated.Anti-friction bearings are usedthroughout.Motors include class F insulationand thermal protection, andare specially designed for valveactuation.Manual declutch lever mechanicallydisconnects the motor from the handwheel through the clutch assembly.Return to motor operation is automaticin all actuators when the motor isenergized.A four-position, 16-contact gearedlimit switch is standardon all models. The gear train isfully enclosed.Rugged, TGIC polyester powder coating protectsexterior surfaces. Enclosures are available inweatherproof, submersible and explosion-proofconstruction. Gaskets and seals throughout preventexposure to the elements.4
