Technical Data TD01005006EEffective January 2018Eaton’s SPD Series for integration into electrical distribution equipment IntroductionEaton’s SPD Series surge protective devicesEaton’s SPD Series surge protective devices are the latest and mostadvanced ULT 1449 3rd Edition certified surge protectors. Units areavailable integrated within Eaton electrical assemblies, includingpanelboards, switchboards, motor control centers, switchgear, andbus plugs. Side-mount versions of the SPD Series are also availablefor installation external to an electrical assembly. Application ofSPD Series units throughout a facility will ensure that equipmentis protected with the safest and most reliable surge protectivedevices available.SPD Series units are available in all common voltages andconfigurations and also in a variety of surge current capacityratings from 50 through 400 kA. Three feature package optionsare also available to choose from. These feature packages arethe basic, standard, and standard with surge counter. The properfeature package can be selected based on the requirements of theapplication or specification.Existing SPD Series units previously installed without a remotedisplay also have the capability of mounting their displays remotelyfrom the device. Complete remote display kits are available thatcontain all items required to mount the display remotely, includingthe remote display cable.
