Setting Up the Thermometer Install the AA batteries (1,000 measurements from new set) If needed, change the C/F default setting with switch in thebattery compartment using a pen or pointed object

TIME TO TAKE A TEMPERATURE!

Taking a Temperature1. Remove thermometer from cradle by gripping atthe base and pivoting up – turns on automatically2. Attach new probe cover by pushing probe tipstraight into box, then pulling thermometer out3. Wait for ready indication – ring around measurebutton turns green, thermometer will beep once,and 3 dashed lines on display indicate ready

Taking a Temperature4. Place probe snugly in ear canal and direct/aimtoward opposite temple – keep thermometerprobe steady in the ear canal during measurement5. Press and release measure button - unit willbeep once, running dashes will appear on thedisplay then the green ExacTemp light will flash6. Temperature measurement complete with a longbeep and steady green ExacTemp lightilluminates, reading will show on display

Taking a Temperature7. Remove used probe cover by pressing the PCejection button and discard into receptacle8. To take another measurement, place a new, cleanprobe cover on the thermometer. If no action istaken the thermometer will enter SLEEP after 10seconds or upon returning to the cradle or hostdevice.

Using Control Buttons Press the MEMORY button to display last completetemperature. Memory can also be accessed fromthe sleep mode and will display for 5 seconds Switch to alternative temperature scale by pushingthe C/F button while a reading is being displayed –press C/F button again to revert back (also revertsback when unit goes to sleep) Press and hold timer button for one second toactivate timer – display will show timer counting upin seconds and four 15 second quadrants

Setting Up The Charging Station1. Insert rechargeable battery pack into batterycompartment with battery label facing outward.2. Connect the USB cable to the back of the chargingstation (1a) and feed the cable through theretaining clip.3. Select the appropriate interchangeable plug forcountry and region and connect to wall adapter.Plug in USB cable and then into outlet. A greenlight illuminates indicating ready to use.

Charging The Thermometer1. Place the thermometer into the thermometercradle. Place the thermometer in cradle into thecharging station.2. The thermometer will produce an audible beepand the charging indicator on the charging stationwill illuminate amber. The battery charge statuswill be displayed on the thermometer LCD.3. It will change to green when the thermometer isfully charged (approximately 3-4 hours if thebattery is empty). Thermometer display screenalso shows charge level with battery icon.

CLEANING THE DEVICE ANDACCESSORIES

Cleaning the Probe Tip Gently wipe surface of probe lens window with cottonswab or cloth slightly moistened with isopropyl or ethylalcohol only. Use gentle pressure. With probe facing down, wipe the probe with a dampcloth or cleaning wipe moistened with isopropyl or ethylalcohol. Gently wipe with dry, clean cotton swab or clothimmediately. Allow at least 5 minutes drying time before takingtemperature. Make sure probe lens window is clean anddry prior to use.

Cleaning the Device ContactsBody, Cradle, and Charging StationsCAUTION Do not use bleach solutions of anykind when cleaning metal electrical contacts.They will damage the device.1. Slightly dampen a cotton swab with 70%isopropyl alcohol.2. Remove the thermometer from the dock andclean the metal electrical contacts on thethermometer.3. Place the thermometer aside for 1 minute,allowing the contacts to air dry.

Cleaning the Body and Accessories For additional protection, place a new probe coveron the thermometer probe to protect this area whencleaning the body of the thermometer. Use a damp cloth or cleaning wipe with cleaningsolution from the Approved Cleaning SolutionsTable. To clean the body, ensure that the wipe ismoist, not saturated. Wipe with display facing up. Clean accessories using same method. Dry 5 min.
