1.0INTRODUCTIONThis document is published to provide pertinent information and guidance to assist customersand their architects, engineers, builders, and contractors in planning for and obtaining a safe andprompt electric service.The information and exhibits contained herein convey general knowledge and do not provideevery detail or every requirement. Furthermore, the information is supplementary to, and doesnot intentionally conflict with the National Electrical Code, the National Electrical Safety Code,the Company’s (as defined in Section 2.0) current applicable tariffs, or such state and municipallaws and ordinances as may be in force within the cities, towns, or communities in which theCompany furnishes electric service. It is always necessary to comply with state statutes, localordinances, and the Company's standard rules and regulations on file with the Public UtilitiesCommission of Ohio. To the extent that any included information contradicts any terms in theCompany’s current applicable tariff, the tariff provision shall govern.The Company shall have the right to refuse to connect any wiring or installation that does notfully meet the aforementioned requirements, regulations, and rules. The Company shall alsohave the right to disconnect the wiring or installation of any customer violating any suchrequirements, regulations, or rules. This action is not intended to imply that the Companyundertakes any obligations to inspect the customer's wiring and electrical facilities, to assumeany obligations, or to make any representations concerning their adequacy, safety, fitness forpurpose, or other qualification. Nothing in the aforementioned requirements, regulations, rules,or in this Guide shall be construed as imposing or undertaking such obligations orrepresentations.All inquiries regarding service requirements should be directed to the Company’s localEngineering Services Section.
