1.1 Comments to Release ManagementRelease management serves to check the functionalities described in the LARS formatspecification and the actual electronic statements that are created in the LARS format andtransmitted. Furthermore, release management ensures traceability. The version consists of three parts: The version The release The modification level.Explanation: When the electronic statements are created, the actual version is provided in thestatement header (Record Type 200, Sequence 00, see below). The actual version consisting of the version and the release of this LARS FormatSpecification must agree with that of the LARS files to be processed. The modification level is only entered and "automatically incremented" in the LARS file(Record Type 200, Sequence 00, see below). The LARS documentation is not adjustedfor the incrementation of the modification level, as the modification level is usedexclusively for internal review by Lufthansa AirPlus Servicekarten GmbH.Note: Higher release or version details may have an impact on the interpretation of the LARSstatement, as fields and/or field content may have changed. Higher information for the modification level has no impact on the interpretation of theLARS statement. With respect to an older modification level, none of the fields and/orfield content described in this LARS documentation has changed. Higher modification levels, however, also serve in part the extension of the LARS formatfor preparation of new releases. Therefore, under certain circumstances, fields that arereferred to in the documentation as "filler" can contain values that are not "space" or"zero," as described in this documentation. We therefore strongly recommend that noreview of the "fillers" on content is conducted!LARS Format Specification Version 3.00As of: 12/2019Page 7 of 79

2) GeneralTo respond to the ever-growing need for electronic statements, AirPlus Internationalreworked the existing LARS statement record and extended for new information. With the LARS format, AirPlus International offers a structured data format with fixed logicalrecord length for the transmission of the statement data of Company Account and CorporateCard & Virtual Cards.Furthermore, through the use of various types of records, it is possible to meet an"electronic" statement about the revenue types.LARS Format Specification Version 3.00As of: 12/2019Page 8 of 79

3) The LARS StructureA statement basically consists of three different types of information that are presented inLARS by record type: The statement header or header record (Record Type 200 with Sequence 00through Sequence 02) The item data (various record types, see below) The statement end or trailer record (Record Type 700).With a statement, the item data are always enclosed in exactly one statement header andexactly one statement end.The item data, in turn, that can occur multiple times in a statement (depending on thenumber of items in the statement), consist of other information types that are likewisedescribed by various record types: The actual item data (Record Type 300) The descriptive billing information (Record Type 400) The supplementary data (Record Type 5xx).Explanation: As there is always exactly one item record (Record Type 300) for a statement item, adescriptive billing record (Record Type 400) is only created if descriptive billinginformation is also available for the item.Note: The detailed description of the content of the individual record types follows in thefollowing chapters.1:n200th record Item data700th record1:n300th record DBISupplementary data1:20:2400th recordLARS Format Specification Version 3.001 : 995xx-th recordAs of: 12/2019Page 9 of 79

3.1 Statement header description3.1.1 Header record (Record Type 200) descriptionThe statement header or the header record of a statement is presented through RecordType 200 records. It contains the information common to all the statement items of thisstatement. These are, for example, payment number, payment date, payment currency andpartner number. A total of 3 records with Record Type 200 are written. They are different interms of content and are identified with Sequence 00 through Sequence 02.The statement header with its 3 sequences exists only once in each statement and indicatesthe beginning of a new statement.Explanation: The statement header is followed by the item data belonging to this statement (seebelow). A statement ends with the statement end or the trailer record (Record Type 700).3.2 Item data descriptionAs already briefly described above, item data consists of different other data, representedthrough various record types: The actual item data (Record Type 300)The descriptive billing information (Record Type 400)The supplementary data (Record Type 5xx).The following table summarizes which LARS Record Types are possible for which servicetypes:Service typeof an item3004005xxSN00 SN01 SN00 SN01FlightDeutsche Bahn AGInternational railTravel agency and TAFCar rental companyHotelOther opt.opt.opt.500510511520530540590Explanation: A statement item can only belong to one of the aforementioned service types.LARS Format Specification Version 3.00As of: 12/2019Page 10 of 79

3.2.1 Item record (Record Type 300) descriptionEach statement item in the LARS structure is marked with a Record Type 300 item record. The item record contains the data belonging to an item that are not related to service type;for example, the amount information, value-added tax and the type of revenue. To be able toadd new service types to the LARS structure, the item record cannot contain any servicetypical information. The item record appears at least once (SN00) per statement item and indicates thebeginning of a new statement item. If the tax number of the service provider of the item isavailable, an additional record (SN01) is written. The content of both records is different (seebelow). As a rule, there are usually multiple statement items in a statement, but there is atleast one.Explanation: The item record follows the descriptive billing information (if available) for this statementitem and supplementary data (see below). A statement item is closed by a new itemrecord (Record Type 300) or a statement end or trailer record (Record Type 700).Note: Every item record of Record Type 300 belongs to the statement, in which the statementheader or header record that previously appeared began with Record Type 200 record. In the item record, it is determined whether detailed billing information for this itemappear or not (LARS-400-COUNT field, see below), which service type this item refers to(LARS-HK field, see below) and whether the Record Types 5xx (LARS-5XX-COUNTfield, see below) follow.3.2.2 Descriptive billing information record (Record Type 400) descriptionThe descriptive billing information of Record Type 400 (Sequence 00 and 01) containsdescriptive billing information that belongs to the preceding Record Type 300 item record.Basically descriptive billing information is then only added to the LARS structure ifdescriptive billing information for the statement item is also available. The content of bothrecords is different (see below). The descriptive billing information records, at this time, appear a maximum of twice perstatement item.Note: The item record contains a reference (LARS-400-COUNT field, see below), whichindicates whether and how many (0, 1 or 2) descriptive billing information record areavailable for the statement item.LARS Format Specification Version 3.00As of: 12/2019Page 11 of 79

3.2.3 Flight record (Record Type 500) descriptionThe Record Type 500 Fight record describes only service-type-related data for revenues ofthe Fight service type, which belong to the preceding Record Type 300 item record. The Flight record may appear several times per statement item if the revenue is to beassigned to the Flight service type.Note: The item record contains a reference (LARS-HK field, see below), which indicateswhether it relates to revenue of the Flight service type or not and how often the Flightrecord appears (LARS-5XX-COUNT field, see below).Corporate Card:When using a Corporate Card this record type only exists when additional descriptiveinformation available. Without additional descriptive information a flight transaction will bepresented in the structure of a 590 record.3.2.4 DB record (Record Type 510) descriptionThe Record Type 510 DB record describes only service-type-related data for revenues ofDeutsche Bahn AG or other railway companies. The DB record may appear several times per statement item.Note: The item record contains a reference (LARS-HK field, see below), which indicateswhether it relates to revenue of the Deutsche Bahn service type or not and how often theDB record appears (LARS-5XX-COUNT field, see below).Corporate Card:When using a Corporate Card this record type cannot occur.LARS Format Specification Version 3.00As of: 12/2019Page 12 of 79

4) Record Structure (by Record Type)4.1 About the description of the record systemThis chapter lists the fields of the individual record types along with a brief description, fieldname, position in the record and format. The field name is the unique identification of a specific field. We recommend using this fieldname in application programs to the greatest possible extent, as it makes communicationwith the technical hotline for support and debugging much easier. The item count begins with "1" (one). The formats of the individual fields are provided in a COBOL-related syntax. This means:X(017)Field type:Length:characters allowed:alphanumeric17 bytesA-Z, a-z, 0-9, spaces, special characters9(010)Field type:numeric without signs (only positive numbersallowed)10 bytes0-9 (no spaces, no signs)Example:The sign-free number 17 appears as: “0000000017”Length:characters allowed:N(010)Field type:Length:characters allowed:negative numeric (no space, if applicable signs)10 bytes0-9 and, if applicable, a leading "-" (minus)Example:the positive number 17 appears as: “0000000017”the negative number -17 appears as: “-000000017“LARS Format Specification Version 3.00As of: 12/2019Page 17 of 79

4.2 Record Type 200 record structure (Header record)The Header record consists of three different record formats. The difference is in theSequence Number field (abbreviated: SN) in positions 4 to 5.
