The mode is selectedwhen a button is pressed. The control board then sends commands tothe relay board / power supply through the ribbon cable used forcommunication. If the DELAY button is pressed when the blower is off, the fan will turnon at the high speed setting for 10 minutes, then shut off.The LED above each button will illuminate when that particularfunction is activated. If the blower is operating when the DELAY button is pressed, the fanwill run for 10 minutes at the currently selected speed, then shut off.4.1.24.1.3DELAY FunctionClean Filter ReminderAfter 40 hours of operation, the LED above the FILTERS button willilluminate, indicating that the filters need to be cleaned.Pressing the button for 3 seconds will reset the 40-hour period andturn the LED off. The activated tone will occur after reset.Figure 4 Control board and control panel4.1.1AUTO FunctionWhen the automatic blower function is enabled by pressing AUTO, thefunction will control both the activation and speed of the fan based onthe temperature read by the heat sensor on the control board. If the AUTO function is selected while the blower is already running,(LO, MED, HI, or DELAY), the control will disable that function andimmediately initiate the automatic function. When AUTO is enabled, the control will poll the temperature every 30seconds and automatically adjust the blower speed accordingly.4.1.4Heat SensorThe control board includes an over-temperature sensor to protect thehood from high temperatures which may damage components.Over-Temperature Condition - The sensor is set to activate at 167º F(75º C) and reset when temperature returns to 140º F (60º C).When the over-temperature condition is activated, the ventilator willturn on high, and the corresponding LED will blink at .5 secondintervals. While the over-temperature condition is activated, the ventilator speedand delay switches are not functional. Light controls will remainoperational. When the sensor cools and once again reaches 140º FPage 8 of 16

In the case of this extreme condition, allspeed-indicator LEDs will start blinking. All controls will still beoperational except the speed indicators.control the ventilator and lights. The relays react to input andcommands from the control board and activate the components in thehood. NOTICEThe heat sensor is not field-replaceable; the control must be replacedwhen the sensor malfunctions.4.2Ventilator / Power HarnessThe ventilator / power harness is wrapped in black sleeving. One endis connected to the main relay/power board, and the other end has amolex plug connector for the blower, as well as the L1 (black) andneutral (white) power supply leads.Figure 6 Main relay board / power supply4.4LightsHalogen lamp assemblies include a receptacle, a G-9 120V 40W bulb, and lens cover. There are two settings - normal and dim - which are controlled by theresistor(s).Figure 5 Molex plug on ventilator/power harness4.3Main Relay Board / Power SupplyFigure 7 Halogen lamp assemblyThe 120V / 60Hz / 16A main relay board / power supply is connectedto high voltage.
