The acoustic warning remains switched off aslong as the door is open. When the door is closed, thealarm function is active again.u Press Alarm button Fig. 3 (11).w The door alarm stops.5.4 Temperature alarmIf the freezer temperature is not cold enough,the audible warning sounds.At the same time, the Alarm symbol Fig. 3 (12)will flash.The cause of a temperature being too high may be:- Hot fresh food was placed in the appliance.- When sorting and removing food from the appliance,too much warm ambient air got in.- Prolonged power outage- The appliance is faulty.The audible warning automatically ceases, the Alarmsymbol Fig. 3 (12) goes out, and the temperature displaystops flashing when the temperature is cold enoughagain.If the alarm status remains: (see 7 Troubleshooting.) .NoteIf the temperature is not cold enough, food may spoil.u Check the quality of the food. Do not consume spoiledfood.5.4.1 Switching off the temperature alarmThe acoustic warning can be switched off. When thetemperature is cold enough again, the alarm function isactive again.u Press Alarm button Fig. 3 (11).w The acoustic warning ceases.5.5 Sabbath ModeThis function meets the religious requirements on theSabbath and Jewish festivals. When the appliance is inSabbath mode some control electronic functions areswitched off. After setting Sabbath mode you no longerneed to worry about indicator lights, figures, symbols,displays, alarm messages and fans. The thawing cycleonly operates at the specified time without taking refrigerator use into account. After a power cut the applianceautomatically switches on again in Sabbath mode.7

OperationYou can find a list of Star-K-certified appliances atwww.star-k.org/appliances .5.6.1 Refrigerating foodWARNINGDanger of food poisoning!No record will be kept of a power failure during SabbathMode. Thus, during Sabbath mode, if a power failureoccurs that you are not aware of, when the power comesback on, the unit will continue to be in Sabbath Mode butwhen Sabbath Mode is ended there will be no indicationthat a power failure occurred.If a power failure occurs during Sabbath mode:u Check the quality of the food. Do not consume spoiledfood!WARNINGDanger of fireu Do not use electrical appliances inside the food storagecompartments of the appliance, unless they are of thetype recommended by the manufacturer.- All functions are blocked until Sabbath mode isswitched off.- If the unit is currently running in a mode such asSuperfrost, Supercool or the Ventilation is enabledthese functions will continue and finish their timedcycles independent of now being in Sabbath mode.- No audible signals are emitted, and the temperaturedisplay does not indicate any warnings or settings(such as a temperature alarm or door alarm).- Light does not operate.5.5.1 Setting Sabbath modeu To activate setting mode: Press and hold theSuperFrost button Fig. 3 (9) for approx. 5 s.w S flashes on the display.w The Menu symbol Fig. 3 (13) lights up.u To access the Sabbath mode function: Briefly presstheSuperFrost button Fig. 3 (9).When S1 is shown on the display:u To turn on Sabbath mode, briefly press theSuperFrost button Fig. 3 (9).When S0 is shown on the display:u To turn off Sabbath mode, briefly press theSuperFrost button Fig. 3 (9).u To deactivate setting mode: Press the Freezer compartment On/Off button Fig. 3 (6).-oru Wait 5 min.w The Sabbath Mode symbol Fig. 3 (16) appears on thetemperature display as long as Sabbath Mode is active.w Sabbath mode switches off automatically after 120hours if it is not manually switched off beforehand.5.6 Fridge compartmentThe natural circulation of air in the refrigerator compartment results in zones with differing temperatures. It iscoldest directly above the vegetable drawers and at therear wall. It is warmest at the top front of the compartmentand in the door.8Noteu Do not load the door with more than 35 lbs (16 kg) offood.NoteInsufficient ventilation results in an increase in energyconsumption and reduction of the refrigerating performance.u Never block the air slits in the fan.u Use recyclable plastic, metal, aluminum and glasscontainers and cling film to wrap foods.u Always store raw meat or fish in clean, closedcontainers on the lowest shelf in the cooling area sothat other food cannot come into contact with it or dripon it.u Always use closed containers for liquids and for foodthat may give off or be tainted by odor or flavor transferor cover them.u Use the front floor area of the fridge compartment onlyto set down food to be refrigerated temporarily, e.g.,when rearranging or sorting the contents of the fridge.Do not leave the food there, as it may be pushed backor tipped over when the door is closed.u Do not store food too close together to enable sufficientair circulation.5.6.2 Setting the temperatureThe temperature depends on the following factors:- the number of times the door is opened- The duration the door is opened- the room temperature of the installation location- the type, temperature and amount of food.Recommended temperature setting: 39 F (4 C)The temperature can be altered continuously. Once asetting of 34 F (1 C) is reached it goes back to 46 F(7 C).u Call up the temperature function: Press thechiller compartment Set button Fig. 3 (3).w The temperature gage then displays theprevious figure as a flashing numeral.u Changing the temperature in 1 F (1 C)intervals: Press the Refrigerator compartment set button Fig. 3 (3) until the desiredtemperature appears on the temperaturedisplay.u To change the temperature continuouslyPress and hold down the Set button.w The value is displayed flashing during thesetting operation* Depending on model and options

Operationw About 5 seconds after the last press of the button, thenew setting is adopted and the set temperature thenstarts being displayed again. The interior temperatureslowly adjusts to the new setting.u Insert the shelf with the raised edge to the backpointing upwards.w This prevents food from contacting and freezing to theback wall.5.6.3 SuperCoolTo dismantle shelvesu The shelves can bedismantled for cleaning.With SuperCool you switch to the highest coolingperformance to reach lower cooling temperatures. Use SuperCool to rapidly cool large quantities of food.If SuperCool is on, the fan* may come on. The applianceworks at maximum refrigerating power. The sound of therefrigeration unit may be temporarily louder as a result.SuperCool will use more energy than normal operation.Cooling with SuperCoolu Briefly press the SuperCool button Fig. 3 (4).w The SuperCool symbol Fig. 3 (5) lights up in the display.w The cooling temperature drops to the coldest value.SuperCool is switched on.w SuperCool switches itself off automatically after 12hours. The appliance continues to work in normalenergy-saving mode.5.6.5 Using the split shelfCAUTIONDanger of lacerations!The storage shelf can shatter if dropped or mishandled.You could cut yourself on the pieces of broken glass.u Only remove storage shelves when there is nothing onthem.u Push the split shelf underneath as in the illustration.To prematurely switch off SuperCoolu Briefly press the SuperCool button Fig. 3 (4).w The SuperCool symbol Fig. 3 (5) goes out in the display.w SuperCool is switched off.5.6.4 ShelvesShifting or removing shelvesCAUTIONDanger of lacerations!The storage shelf can shatter if dropped or mishandled.You could cut yourself on the pieces of broken glass.u Only remove storage shelves when there is nothing onthem.Extension stops secure the shelves against being accidentally pulled outFig. 5u The glass shelf with stop face (2) has to be at the back.u The glass plate (1) with the pull out stops must be atthe front so that the stops (3) point downward.5.6.6 Door racksNoteu Do not load the door with more than 35 lbs (16 kg) offood.Fig. 4u Lift up the shelf and pull it slightly forward.u Adjust the shelf height by shifting the spacers in therunners.u To remove the shelf completely, set it at an angle andpull it out towards you.* Depending on model and options9

OperationRepositioning the door racksAfter the door is closed, a vacuum is created. Operation5.7.4 Setting the temperatureThe temperature depends on the following factors:- the number of times the door is opened- The duration the door is opened- the room temperature of the installation location- the type, temperature and amount of food.Recommended temperature setting: 0 F (-18 C)The temperature can be altered continuously.
