Step 1:Preoperative Evaluation& ConsultationDuring your consultation, our staff will perform a series of tests to ensure that youreyes are healthy, suitable, and stable forlaser vision correction.Your eyes will be electronically measuredto create an accurate three-dimensionalimage of your eye’s surface. You will alsomeet with our medical director and surgeonprior to your procedure. They will review theprocedure and answer any questions youmay have prior to your treatment.From the tests and data collected, the laserwill calculate the treatment that will bestcorrect your refractive error.

Step 2:INDIANALASIKFlap CreationCENTERSA few minutes before the laser treatment,you are given anesthetic eye drops. Don’tworry about blinking, the surgeon will inserta lid speculum to hold your eye open.Next, your surgeon will place you under theZiemer FEMTO LDV femtosecond laser toprepare the eye for flap creation. Thanks tothe extremely high frequency of the laserpulses, the layers of the cornea are separatedwith unprecedented precision, creating anultra-thin flap.The flap is separated and folded backcreating a hinge to expose the next layer ofcornea to be dianaLASIKcenters.com

Step 3:Corneal CorrectionNow the curvature of the cornea is reshapedaccording to the desired refraction. Anexcimer laser precisely ablates cornealtissue within seconds, to the hundredth ofa millimeter. This procedure is performedinside the cornea; the outer, very sensitivelayers of the cornea are not touched by thelaser.Finally, the flap will be reseated in its originalposition to cover the treated area. Thedisturbed epithelial cells start regeneratingimmediately and will grow back quickly.The whole procedure lasts only a couple ofminutes and there are no visible traces ofthe treatment on the eye.

Step 4:INDIANALASIKAftercareCENTERSImmediately after treatment, you may openand close your eyes normally, keeping inmind to avoid touching or rubbing your eyes.To reduce any discomfort and promotehealing, keep both eyes closed as muchas possible the day of your procedure. Werecommend napping!Leave the plastic shields in place for theremainder of the day, and wear themwhile sleeping for the next 5 nights. Step 5:Drop RegimenPlease obtain and bring the prescribed dropswith you on the day of your procedure. Ourstaff will verify that the correct medicationhas been purchased. Taking all of yourmedicated eye drops, as directed, will helppromote healing and relieve any discomfort.During the first 24 hours place 1 drop ofTobradex in the operated eye(s) every 2hours, while you are awake. Then 1 drop 4times a day for the next 4 days.Thera Tears should be taken every 2 hoursfor 2 months, while you are awake. Then 1drop 4 times a day for the next 6-8 months.Drops should be used 5 minutes apart toprevent one from washing out the other.
