IntroductionJoint Base Langley-Eustis is committed to building a strong and healthy community thatsupports Military Service Members, Families, DA Civilians, and Retirees. The Joint BaseLangley-Eustis Community Resource Guide is a reference tool for contacting agenciesresponsible for providing Families assistance. Off-post agencies are occasionally listed toprovide a full range of resources available within the Langley-Eustis (or say NewportNews/Hampton) area.HOW THIS RESOURCE GUIDE IS ORGANIZEDThe Community Resource Guide is organized as a reference tool for individuals tocontact agencies that offer support in different areas. The term intervention is most often used when the traumatic eventinvolves addiction to alcohol, drugs, suicidal ideations or other items.A prevention is a program of activities directed at improving general well-being andoften involving specific protection for selected purposes or diseases, such as immunization;while primary prevention is the avoidance of the onset of disease by behavior modification (e.g.limiting alcohol intake) or treatment (e.g. routing childhood immunization).NEWCOMERS ORIENTATIONIf you are new to Joint Base Langley-Eustis or you are returning after spending timeaway from the installation your first stop should be the Newcomers Orientation The RelocationReadiness Program has partnered with In-processing and conducts an over-all briefing of ACSservices to Soldiers and Family Members every other month starting in January at the Ft. EustisClub 1000-1130, date are on the ACS calendar. Free onsite childcare is provided; nopreregistration required. 6 weeks to 12 years in the summer, up to 5 years old during schoolmonths. The newcomers’ orientation is designed to welcome and inform newly arrived Soldiersand Family members of the many Family support services available on Joint Base LangleyEustis and surrounding communities.
