Obstetrics and Gynecology Update: What Does The Evidence Tell Us? New information on obstetric and gynecologic practice is being produced at a rapid rate. Leaders in the field, including those at the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, take an evidence-based approach when formulating practice guidelines. This course is designed to provide a comprehensive update for the practitioner, placing emphasis on reviewing current evidence-based data and applying new practice guidelines. TARGET AUDIENCE Designed for practicing physicians, residents, nurses, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants seeking an update on a wide range of current issues in obstetrics and gynecology. OBJECTIVES Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to: Apply best practices and evidence for reducing the first cesarean section; Describe morbidly adherent placenta and other consequences of cesarean delivery and how to manage these complications; Apply the most recent guidelines for screening and management of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia; Appropriately counsel patients about nutrition, vitamin and exercise for the prevention of osteoporosis, and the effects of marijuana and vaping on pregnancy; Create an inclusive practice for transgender patients; Discuss the recent Covid-19 pandemic, the virus’ effect on pregnancy, and potential protocols and practice changes. interactive webinar VIRTUAL MEETING This course will be offered as an interactive virtual conference. ACCREDITATION The University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine (UCSF) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. UCSF designates this live activity for a maximum of 22.50 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. This CME activity meets the requirements under California Assembly Bill 1195, continuing education and cultural and linguistic competency. Nurses For the purpose of recertification, the American Nurses Credentialing Center accepts AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM issued by organizations accredited by the ACCME.
