2 Daylighting Systems Introduction Daylighting is essential for healthy living, it is an established fact that ample daylight improves a general feeling of health and wellbeing in the workforce and improves productivity and safety. Using as much natural light in buildings as possible has many advantages over using artifi cial lights, if its penetration is appropriately controlled. Let the Sunshine in Light is not only an amount of energy, it also provides us with the eans to reveal spaces and volumes and interact with our environment. and brighten your building

of roof area (prismatic daylighting) reduces lighting energy demand by during daylight hours. Daylight savings People love natural light. Subconsciously, unknowingly, we seek out sunlit places and enjoy spending time in natural light. Beyond this desire, however, are some tangible benefi ts to adding natural daylighting into buildings: In a typical building, lighting accounts for 25-40% of energy consumption! By allowing more natural light to penetrate and controlling both its light and heat components, the financial savings could be considerable. Daylighting cuts energy use and pollution. Power plants fueled by oil, coal and gas dump thousands of tons of pollutants into the environment every day. By cutting demand for energy production, we cut pollution, too. Studies have proven daylighting makes employees more comfortable and productive. Reduced absenteeism, employee satisfaction and higher productivity are all bottom line benefits from the use of natural daylighting. An increase of just 1% in productivity provides enough financial savings to a company to pay their entire energy bill. In addition to its health and fi nancial benefi ts, natural light also provides an almost “perfect white light” that has a number of visual benefits. Best of all, natural light is “of course, plentiful.

Depending on climate and building type, toplighting can save between 1,4 - 5,0 EUR/m2 per year! Daylight has many advantages over artifi ciallight - not least the fact that it is a completely free, unlimited natural resource. Whilst artificial light is essential, it’s provision uses a lot of energy, so reducing the requirement will dramatically cut energy use, and the CO2 emissions which result from this. Light panels save energy and reduce carbon emissions; Can replace electric lighting 70 to 80% of the daylight hours while producing much less heat than electric lighting; Improve employee morale; Reduce absenteeism; Reduce errors; Improve product quality; Increase productivity; Increase sales in retail stores up to 40%.

Daylighting Systems 6 KS1000 HTL Hybrid Thermalight Scan the code and learn more: APPLICATION ROOF PITCH LIGHT TRANSMISSION FACTORY, WAREHOUSE ENVIRONMENTS 6 DEGREES OR ABOVE 55-65 % Introduction Every workplace should have suitable and sufficient lighting, which should, so far as is reasonably practical, be by natural light. The most eff ective method of providing even, consistent daylight, particularly in large buildings, is through roofl ights, which are up to three times more eff ective than windows around the perimeter of the building. Lower your energy bills up to 55% with Kingspan Hybrid Rooflights. KS1000 RW/HTL off ers excellent interior levels of natural light without compromising the performance of the building. This can help to lower both energy bills and CO2 emissions. Diffused lighting should be used to provide even light distribution and avoid glare. Energy savings is the most easily quantifiably of the benefi ts. We found that an economically optimum toplighting system using skylights saved 35-55% of annual lighting energy while having a much smaller impact on both heating and cooling energy consumption. KS1000 RW/HTL KS1000 FF/HTL

Daylighting Systems 24 Tubular skylights Sunpipe , SunizerTM Scan the code and learn more: APPLICATION ROOF PITCH LIGHT TRANSMISSION ALL TYPES OF BUILDINGS 0-30 DEGREE UP TO 98 % SUNPIPE Application System Benefits The SUNPIPE is a revolutionary new way to pipe natural daylight down from rooftop into the building to brighten areas from dawn to dusk where daylight from windows cannot reach. It is energy free, super reflective tube even extends through adjustable aends and has an internal mirror finish that intensifies and reflects natural daylight delivering free outdoor light to a room or area below - where the light is evenly diffused by a translucent ceiling fixture. At ceiling level, the diffuser has the ability to distribute the light in every direction, giving an even spread of light throughout the room. Sunpipes are supplied as complete system, with roof aluminum insulated upstands and applicable with Kingspan roof insulated panels. Due to the shape of the Diamond dome, the SUNPIPE is self-cleaning, since rainwater washes off any dust or dirt and there are no crevices for dirt to collect. No structural alterations required, easily fits between joists and rafters. No maintenance required and will not leak. Top dome is self-cleaning due to its shape and eliminates condensation problems. All SUNPIPE systems are guaranteed for 10 years against faulty manufacture. Few fixings are required, normal single fixing at base of system. Joints are sealed using aluminium tape. Reflection efficiency up to 98 %! Investment payback – 5-6 years. Applicable with Kingspan roof insulated panels. A SUNPIPE can be almost any length that you wish, but loses 6% of light for every metre of SUNPIPE. For very long SUNPIPEs, a larger diameter should be used.
