HOME T H E AT E R The home theater has become a part of everyday home life. It’s where many hours are spent as family and friends come together for entertainment and relaxation. BDI Furniture merges innovative engineering and original design to seamlessly integrate today’s technology into the home. Our home theater furniture is the most thoroughly engineered furniture available today, designed to anticipate the needs of the most demanding home theater systems. Features such as adjustable shelves, cable management, speaker/media storage, and hidden wheels provide simple setup, ease of use and lasting enjoyment. Home theater cabinets ship almost completely assembled, requiring only minimal hardware installation by the user or installer. Open stands require light assembly. Packaging is environmentally conscious and thoroughly designed to ensure that everything arrives as expected. A D J U S TA B L E S H E LV E S Because components come in many shapes and sizes, BDI’s home theater furniture features shelves that can be adjusted to accommodate a wide range of systems. Most shelves rest on unique steel shelf pins which are rubber-padded to minimize vibration of components; high-quality threaded inserts allow you to readjust shelf positioning as needed. In general, BDI home theater cabinets are adjustable in 1.25-inch (32 mm) increments, while shelves in open TV stands can be set at one of several preset positions. A R E N A T V M O U N T C O M P A T I B L E BDI models that feature this icon are compatible with the Arena Flat Panel TV Mount, models 9970 and/or 9972. Model 9970 attaches directly to the rear of the cabinet, while model 9972 is a freestanding mount. Both models incorporate a multi-pivot swivel and provide a range of flat panel mounting heights. C A B L E M A N A G E M E N T BDI home theater furniture is engineered to keep the usual tangle of cables and connections neatly under control and out of sight. Cabinets feature removable back panels for easy access to the rear of components. Integrated routing channels neatly conceal speaker and interconnect cables. Open TV stands feature a back panel with generous cable-routing openings. Whichever model is chosen, the user can gather and secure all cables neatly with the supplied Velcro closures. C O N C E A L E D S P E A K E R C O M PA R T M E N T Units with this icon include a concealed compartment designed for use with a center channel speaker. The compartment may be a drawer or a shelf that includes a speaker-fabric panel front that allows the speaker’s sound to pass through. Select models allow the drawer to be removed completely, revealing a finished shelf that accommodates larger speakers. C O R N E R F R I E N D LY The best place for a TV is sometimes the corner of the room, but common rectilinear TV stands may be too wide to effectively use the space. BDI designs featuring this icon are specifically engineered for positioning in a corner, maximizing the space with a minimal footprint. F L O W - T H R O U G H V E N T I L A T I O N In order to perform at peak levels, components not only need to look cool, they have to stay cool. BDI cabinets facilitate airflow through generous ventilation slots integrated into the bottom panels, shelves and removable back panels. Cooler air is drawn in from the bottom of the cabinet, while hot air is naturally expelled out the back. HIDDEN W H E E L S BDI’s unique concealed wheels are built into models that feature this icon. Even when fully loaded, cabinets can be moved away from the wall by one person for easy access to cables and connections. I N T E G R A T E D L E V E L E R S If a cabinet is not level, doors and drawers may appear out of alignment. Floors can be uneven but that doesn’t have to affect the appearance or performance of your BDI furniture. Models with this icon include easily adjusted levelers that compensate for minor variations in the floor. Cabinets with hidden wheels include integrated levelers that are readily accessible from inside or outside the cabinet, allowing it to be raised off of its wheels to secure it in place. I N T E G R A T E D M O U N T I N G B R A C K E T Furniture that features this icon includes a mounting bracket that allows the user to directly mount a broad range of flat panel TVs directly. Cables are kept out of sight, neatly routed through the sturdy steel support column. Refer to individual model specifications for recommended TV sizes. I N T E G R AT E D S W I V E L Models with this icon feature an integrated swivel mechanism that allows for a better view from almost anywhere in the room. Swivel the unit for easy access to connections, or just to turn the screen away from unwanted light. I R - F R I E N D LY G L A S S Grey tinted glass doors and windows keep components out of sight yet easily accessible by Infrared (IR) remote controls. R E M O V A B L E B A C K P A N E L BDI home theater cabinets are innovatively engineered with either removable or sliding back panels. BDI builds our cabinets in a unique way so that the backs can be removed effortlessly for easy access to components and connections. The back panel can be left off the cabinet without sacrificing structural rigidity, allowing larger components to extend from the back, if necessary. TEMPERED G L A S S Most BDI furniture incorporates tempered (toughened) glass. Tempered glass is virtually shatterproof and four to five times stronger than standard glass. ARENA TV MOUNT COMPATIBLE This performance feature icon will be used to identify models that are compatible with the ARENA Flat Panel TV Mount model 9970 or 9972. ARENA 9970 is only compatible with certain BDI cabinets. For other models and manufacturers, ARENA 9972 is recommended. Refer to specific furniture models for compatibility.
