Dear Parents, Students and Friends of Mountain Crest High School: We are off to a fantastic start this year. Students, teachers and our staff came back from summer break enthusiastic and focused on having a successful year. We appreciate all of the help from our School Community as we worked hard on several projects this summer to get our school building ready to have the best year ever. Higher Day Several colleges and universities will have representatives at MCHS on October 24th The colleges will have information about admissions, possible scholarships and be able to answer questions about their college. Seniors will be invited to visit with colleges of their choice on this day. We implemented our Mustang Academy program this year. Freshmen and Sophomore students were invited to attend an orientation day on August 23rd. We had approximately 600 students attend this successful event. Mountain Crest High School was on of 6 high schools this past year that earned an ‘A’ grade from the state and we were the only public high school to receive an ‘A’ grade. Our teachers and staff members have worked together as Professional Learning Communities, collaborating and setting goals that have been realized. The scores represent hours of lessons and class experiences that build on what they’ve learned before. We are so proud of the efforts our students and faculty have demonstrated as we all work together to strive for excellence. Homecoming week is September 26-30. Student groups along with teachers, advisors, administration and coaches have been working hard preparing for Homecoming activities. We know our students will represent themselves and Mountain Crest High School well with their exceptional behavior. I want to thank our students, parents, teachers and staff for the dedication and support given to Mountain Crest every day. All of you truly make MC a wonderful place to be. I am proud to be a Mustang! Teri K. Cutler Principal, Mountain Crest High School ***Don’t Delay Join PTA*** It’s time to sign up for PTA!!!!! We need your support to keep up all the amazing things the PTA does to help your student at Mountain Crest. PTA sponsors Red Ribbon Week (Drug free), Yellow Ribbon Week (Suicide prevention/awareness), the Homecoming Parade, Reflections, the Ping Pong Tournament, Teacher Appreciation Week and lunches, and the Senior Party. We would love to have you help and volunteer BUT you don’t even have to do that. PTA just needs you to sign up .that is all you have to do. It’s a bonus if you want to help at any of the activities. The cost is only 6.00 for parents and 5.00 if you want to sign your child up. That is a pretty good return for what your student gets back from your 6.00 investment. PLEASE JOIN THE PTA!!! Forms are in the office or contact Jolynn Overy at 435-764-2319 or Angela Baldwin at 435-757-7411
