WebFOCUS WebFOCUS The following are known issues that apply to all WebFOCUS products: When accessing the Help About menu option in WebFOCUS, WebSphere 8.5.5 displays as WebSphere 8.0. This is a WebSphere bug which is scheduled to be corrected in WebSphere 8.5.5.1. When using Internet Explorer 8 and earlier, you may not be able to open a Microsoft Office or PDF document when the server sends a Cache-control:no-cache or Cache-control:no-store header. This will impact reports created from WebFOCUS with formats such as Excel 2007, PowerPoint , and PDF. Internet Explorer 9 and other browsers, such as Firefox and Chrome , do not have this issue. The following Microsoft Knowledge Base articles provide additional information and available resolutions. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/323308 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/316431 As of WebFOCUS Reporting Server Release 7.7 Version 06, you will be able to modify an integer format through the display format to insert decimal points within the defined whole number in format EXL07/XLSX. For example, F1/I8.2 1234.50 will display as 1234.50. As of WebFOCUS Reporting Server Release 7.7 Version 06, field values defined as integers will be placed in XLSX workbook cells as numeric values with display masks, rather than with the Excel general format. Browser The following is a known issue with browser support: Browsers running in Standards Mode displaying output in an iframe will not display XML. When running a WebFOCUS request with PCHOLD FORMAT XML, select the Run in new Window option to display the result in a new window. This may be an issue for the following WebFOCUS features: Autoprompt page (select Run in new Window option) BI Portal HTML page created with HTML Composer 6 WebFOCUS

WebFOCUS Release Notes Release 8.0 Version 10 Installation and Configuration The following are known issues in installation and configuration of WebFOCUS: WebFOCUS Release 8.0 Version 01 and Release 8.0 Version 02 shipped with isapi redirect.dll version 1.2.25 or earlier. This was known to change the spelling of HTTP headers, which caused support problems when configuring WebFOCUS 8 for pre-authentication with an HTTP header. Newer versions of WebFOCUS 8 include version 1.3.37. This has fixed the problem, but the installer does not upgrade the connector, so the older version must be uninstalled to avoid the problem. The Windows program menu shortcut for Start Distribution Server and Stop Distribution Server have the Run As Administrator option enabled, by default. On some Windows machines, for example Windows Server 2012 R2, running the shortcut ignores the Start in location and instead runs in c:\Windows\System32. This produces an error. When configuring WebFOCUS Release 8.0 Version 04 and higher with WebLogic , you must perform the following post-installation step. You must create a new file called weblogic.xml in the WEB-INF directory for the WebFOCUS web application. It must contain the following information: ?xml version "1.0" encoding "UTF-8"? wls:weblogic-web-app xmlns:wls " xmlns:xsi "http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation "http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee/ejb-jar 3 0.xsd http://xmlns.oracle.com/weblogic/weblogic-web-app 1.4/weblogic-web-app.xsd" wls:container-descriptor wls:prefer-application-packages wls:package-name org.eclipse.persistence /wls:package-name /wls:prefer-application-packages /wls:container-descriptor /wls:weblogic-web-app Once the file is saved, you must recreate the .war file by adding it to webfocus.war. The .war file can be renamed based on your naming convention, and then redeployed. WebFOCUS Release Notes 7

Migration On some 64-bit Windows machines, the Derby service for WebFOCUS 8, with a 32-bit Java configuration (version 1.7x), fails to start. As a workaround: 1. Copy msvcr100.dll from JAVA HOME (32 bit)\bin to DERBY HOME \bin. 2. Start Derby. 3. Manually create the repository tables. 4. Start the Distribution Server. WebFOCUS Release 8.0 Version 09 is packaged with a newer version of the jackson-all-1.9.11.jar file, which includes updated classes. To avoid conflicts with the current version of jackson-all-1.9.11.jar that is included and used by IBM WebSphere Application Server Version 8.0 and 8.5, you must define a container-wide shared library that can be used by deployed WebFOCUS applications. For more information, see the WebFOCUS Upgrade Considerations manual. When installing on iSeries, an incorrect value for the IBI Repos DB URL parameter is written to the webconfig.xml file. The correct value is: parm-name IBI Repos DB URL /parm-name param-value jdbc:as400://{system name}/{db name} /param-value where: system name Is the system hosting the database. db name Is the database used for the WebFOCUS repository. Migration The following are known issues when migrating to WebFOCUS 8: Deferred Status and InfoMini are not compatible. The ability to run InfoMini deferred has been removed from the software. During export, blank characters in user IDs are changed to underscore characters. 8 WebFOCUS

WebFOCUS Release Notes Release 8.0 Version 10 WebFOCUS Security The following are known issues in WebFOCUS security: The Managed Reporting used user license count is incorrectly including users that are only authorized to use ReportCaster functionality. ReportCaster only users can only create schedules and view Library reports. They cannot interactively run or create content within the WebFOCUS repository Content folder path. The WF Role MRGrpAuthMgr, WF Role MRNoPrivs, and WF Role MRSecObjMgr Permission Sets are not fully implemented. Full View context menus are not fully implemented, and certain functionality will not work using that view, such as creating folders under the root WebFOCUS node and other context menu functionality. InfoAssist The following are known issues in InfoAssist: When editing and saving a dashboard that has an inserted report and the User Selection format option enabled, InfoAssist changes the format from AHTML to PDF and disables the User Selection option. The dashboard can be edited to return the original settings, but the run-time User Selection drop-down list will contain all formats instead of just the active formats. If you add an ampersand (&) in front of a parameter name when creating a filter in the Advanced Filter dialog box and the parameter description is subsequently removed, InfoAssist automatically populates a parameter description using the parameter name. This results in the addition of an unsupported ampersand as part of the parameter description. When the default Record Limit selection is changed in InfoAssist User Preferences, the selection is not maintained when creating a Document or a Dashboard. This is not an issue with InfoAssist Report or Chart mode. If you expand the Output File Format drop-down on the InfoAssist Home tab and select PowerPoint, the output format is set to HTML, by default. This occurs when the PowerPoint 2000 format option is disabled in InfoAssist Global Preferences. InfoAssist inadvertently displays PowerPoint as an option, and selecting it automatically reverts the selection to HTML. The same occurs with Excel. When creating an InfoAssist chart using a format other than HTML5 (default), adding an annotation may result in a blank canvas. This issue is intermittent. WebFOCUS Release Notes 9

InfoAssist When working with multiple reports, one of which contains a join, the join in the first file is not preserved when switching to another report. The Data Panel will display only the fields from the target HOLD file. When using the chart functionality of InfoAssist in App Studio, you may incur an incorrect asterisk notation upon opening an existing procedure. When working with a report that contains links that drill down to another webpage, as specified using the Hyperlink functionality, a blank canvas may result if you specify to execute the hyperlink in the same window. If you indicate that the hyperlink should open in a new window, by default, a new browser window opens and the webpage loads upon clicking the link. Promoting a chart with the Refresh BI Portal drilldown option to Document mode with HTML output format will yield errors. The Refresh BI Portal feature is available in InfoAssist for all formats. At run time, the drilldown will not be functional for PDF, PPT, Excel 2000, and Excel 2007 formats. In this case, you may get an error or the drilldown will be ignored. When converting a report in HTML format to a chart in InfoAssist, the output format defaults to HTML, rather than HTML5. When creating a chart using the HTML5 output format, the File option is enabled. If a Hold file is created, the chart is restored as HTML. In some cases, the chart type may revert to the default vertical bar chart. For Lightweight Mapping, the values that display in the Geographic Role drop-down list box are technical names. These values will be modified in a subsequent release. When creating multiple maps in the same InfoAssist session, the Map dialog box may retain selections from prior requests. The Maps feature is not available in Internet Explorer 8. When creating a map using Areas 2x2 or Areas 1x4 views, the Location bucket is not displayed. When using the Lightweight Mapping functionality, the color scale option is only available for Choropleth maps. For Proportional Symbol maps, the color scale option is disabled. In Release 8.0 Version 05 and higher, maps are supported in stand-alone Chart mode only. When promoting a map from Chart mode to Document or Dashboard mode, InfoAssist will change the chart type to a vertical bar chart. The same process will occur when you insert an existing map procedure into a document. 10 WebFOCUS

WebFOCUS Release Notes Release 8.0 Version 10 When selecting a Document Theme, you have the option to select one that is external to InfoAssist. In this case, it is recommended that you select a file without any blank spaces. If the name of the file contains a blank, the server will crash. You will receive the following exception error: IBFSException 32037. If you are using a Master File that contains WITHIN attributes and creating a Define field, the Define field is duplicated. The insertion cursor and the mouse pointer are not synchronized in the Header & Footer dialog box. For example, when you try to insert a field after text, the field appears before the text instead. When using the Google Chrome 23 browser with the Adobe PDF Viewer plug-in to view reports or charts, you are unable to save the report or chart, or exit InfoAssist. This is a known issue that does not have a fix, except to use the Chrome built-in viewer or to run the output in a new browser. To see which viewer you are using, go to the Chrome Plug-ins page by typing chrome:plugins in the Chrome navigation bar. On the Plug-ins page, you can enable and disable viewer plugins. When converting an InfoMini report to a chart, the InfoMini menu options are not retained or saved after the conversion. If the global preference for the default style sheet is pointing to a non-existing .sty file and Allow user override is not checked, InfoAssist returns a Null pointer exception, followed by an Unrecoverable error message, when attempting to launch InfoAssist. When creating a compound layout in the Document Composer tool with AHTML format and flowing is set, the reports overlap each other. When using a multi-fact database with shared and non-shared dimensions, fields selected on the canvas are not mapped correctly to the Field tab on the ribbon. When Enable Pages On Demand is set in the Global Preferences and a Query in Document mode is added with an active report format, the Pages On Demand icon is available, but not enabled. The Master File view does not show all fields in the Join and Fields Mapping dialog boxes. A HOLD file with a default name of File1 cannot be created if the name already exists in any other application. WebFOCUS Release Notes 11

InfoAssist Creating a Define with an ampersand (&) and a qualified field name in an expression, and removing the space between the ampersand and field name, returns an unrecoverable error when you click OK. When you restore a document with Join only, the Join is removed and the original file does not appear in Fields list. The Target file used in the Join appears in the Fields list instead. In InfoAssist, opening a Developer Studio Document Composer procedure that contains unsupported syntax returns a Save prompt if the user chooses to exit. In Document mode, when executing a blank report, the following error message appears: This file cannot be opened because it has no pages. A blank report could be generated in Document mode after creating a HOLD file and not adding any fields. Reports created from a HOLD file do not have a Preview option on the right-click menu. In the Filter dialog box, the Fetch Values From Disk File option in the Values drop-down menu is not supported for spreadsheets saved in Excel 2007 format. When working in InfoAssist Basic, if you select any OLAP options from the Auto Drill & Analysis drop-down and then execute the request, OLAP options will not display at run time. This is because the Managed Reporting property Run with OLAP is not set by InfoAssist Basic. To enable OLAP options, right-click the saved report in the content tree and select Properties. Next, select the Run with OLAP check box at the bottom of the Properties window. There can be a disconnect between the chart frame size and font sizes seen in InfoAssist preview and the actual AHTML chart that is generated. This may result in the AHTML chart not having enough space to actually draw the chart frame. The workaround is to use the Font editing GUI in InfoAssist to choose smaller fonts for the chart axis titles and labels. The font sizes available in the UI have been decreased to 4 pt. When using Firefox 3.6.25, if you create a new report, chart, or document from the last folder on the content tree in the Business Intelligence Portal and try to save the report in InfoAssist, you will notice that the content tree and the folders are absent from the Save dialog box. When using the Join dialog box, if you create a join and try to expand the lower table by clicking and dragging the bottom-right corner of the table, the scroll bars will disappear and the dragged table will be illegible. When working with a report, if you select Description from the Data Panel group and then switch to Document view, the Data Panel will revert back to Title, which is correct. However, the drop-down menu will still continue to show that Description is selected, which is incorrect. 12 WebFOCUS

WebFOCUS Release Notes Release 8.0 Version 10 InfoAssist Chart Mode The following are known issues in WebFOCUS InfoAssist chart mode: When Drilldown is set to Target Same window, you will receive a message that the content cannot be displayed in a frame. This occurs inside InfoAssist when the output destination is set to Default Single Tab or New Tab. This does not occur outside InfoAssist with Single window or New window. Restoring a procedure with PDF/GIF format, when PDF/GIF is hidden, produces HTML output format. Interpolation of line charts in 2.5D mode is not supported. Interpolation of line charts in 2D mode is supported. Line charts are drawn with dotted lines in 2D mode. App Studio The following are known issues in App Studio: The Impact Analysis option, accessed from the Content node shortcut menu, is enabled. This option should be disabled and will be available in a future release. In the Document canvas, when importing an existing PPTX formatted report, a preview of that report will not display. This also occurs when a PPTX formatted report is converted to a document, while on the Report canvas, using the Compound Document command. When inserting a grid in the HTML canvas, and populating it with fields, you will receive the following run-time error: 'ib composer grid' is undefined. Grid insertion will be available in a future release. In the Chart canvas, when running an active report or chart with the output set to Single Tab or New Tab, you will receive the following run-time error: Object doesn't support property or method 'getContext'. Other output formats do not trigger the error. This restriction will be removed in a future release. Developer Studio The following are known issues in Developer Studio: Accessing WebFOCUS in Internet Explorer and Developer Studio using Internet Explorer from the same machine, simultaneously, results in session conflicts. Connections to WebFOCUS or Developer Studio will be invalidated when you switch between the two clients. If you need to connect to the Business Intelligence Portal at the same time that you connect to Developer Studio, you can do one of the following: WebFOCUS Release Notes 13

ReportCaster Specify a different host name for each client. For example, use the IP address for Developer Studio, and the host name for WebFOCUS. Connect to WebFOCUS using a different web browser that is not Internet Explorer. Use the default, Developer Studio Output Viewer. In the Content area of a remote WebFOCUS Environment, if you create a graph with an optional parameter, you must clear the Prompt for Parameters option in the New Procedure dialog box. If you do not clear the Prompt for Parameters option, you will be prompted, at run time, to select the optional parameter. The Prompt for Parameters option is selected by default. While in the Synonym Editor, dragging a segment onto a group causes Developer Studio to close. In HTML Composer, when an Infowindow is opened using a Google Maps API 3 map and the map control does not fill the entire width of the HTML page, the Infowindow close button is not visible. When using Impact Analysis in the Repository area, and attempting to add more folders in the Search Paths section of the Impact Analysis tool, you are unable to multi-select folders in the Browse For Folder dialog box. When using a Release 7.7 Version 05 Reporting Server with Developer Studio 8, icons are not being displayed in the context menu when Synonym Editor is invoked (for example, in fields, segments, and so on). They display in the Data Management Console. After saving changes for a Master File or a procedure in Local Projects, the file size displays as 0 (zero), until you do a Refresh. ReportCaster The following are known issues in ReportCaster: If you run a duplicated schedule, an error will result. This does not happen when running a copied schedule. To enable Distribution Server traces without turning on Job Traces, modify the Distribution start up command with -DRC SYS LOGGING true after the java command. With Unicode characters in a Zip file name, the file names are corrupted after you decompress a .zip file in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2. This problem is fixed in Release 8.1 Version 03 and requires the following hotfix from Microsoft: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2704299/en-us 14 WebFOCUS

WebFOCUS Release Notes Release 8.0 Version 10 When creating a ReportCaster schedule using the COMT format, you must check the Override the Format Specified in the Procedure check box and select the COMT format. Otherwise, the output may lose the CR/LF (Carriage Return / Line Feed) when producing the .csv file. In WebFOCUS 8, you do not need to specify the format in the schedule. However, there is a known issue with this feature. If the scheduled report is a compound report that uses the stabilized SET COMPOUND OPEN syntax, you must select the Override the Format Specified in the Procedure check box and specify the format in the schedule when scheduling this report. Otherwise, the report will not be distributed. Compound reports produced by the WebFOCUS and Developer Studio reporting tools (for example, InfoAssist and Document Composer) do not require that the Override the Format Specified in the Procedure checkbox be checked. A published schedule runs as the creator of the schedule. A user that is allowed to edit a published schedule may make a change to the schedule that the creator of the schedule is not permitted to make. In this case, the schedule will fail at run time. For example, a user may change the Distribution List or Access List used in the schedule to a private Distribution List or Access List that is not available to the creator of the schedule. When the changed schedule runs, it will fail due to inability of the creator to retrieve the Distribution List or Access List from the WebFOCUS Repository. When a user schedules a report to the Library with Library Email notification, an email is sent with a link to the Library report. When the user clicks on this link, they are prompted to sign in to WebFOCUS. If the Anonymous User has Library privileges, the user clicking the link in the Library Email notification will receive a 401 error message, instead of being prompted to sign in. Remove the Library privilege from the Anonymous user to have the WebFOCUS sign-in page display when users click the Library Email notification link. When running a schedule through the Servlet API, you must supply a schedule ID, instead of a schedule description. WebFOCUS Release Notes 15

ReportCaster When using DSTRUN in WebFOCUS Release 8, as in earlier releases, you can supply either the schedule description or the schedule ID. For a migrated schedule: You can use the description or the schedule ID. For a new schedule: You should use the full IBFS path and file name, instead of the schedule description. You can use the Schedule ID, provided that it matches the IBFS ID. If the IDs are not the same, you can use the IBFS ID. The IBFS ID can be found by right-clicking the Schedule and selecting View Log. The empty log is shown in the following image. Maps can be distributed to the Library and Managed Reporting only.
