Proper legal documentationwill be required for non-U.S. citizens.Blessed Trinity Catholic School will abide by the Duval County school board agerequirement. In order to be accepted into the Pre-Kindergarten 4-year-old program, yourchild must be 4 years of age on or before September 1st and potty trained. * Students inPre-Kindergarten are given priority enrollment into the Kindergarten program.*Parents will be called to come to the school to pick up (or provide a change of clothesand assistance in changing) children who have soiled their undergarments. Anexcessive number of bathroom accidents (as determined by the administration) mayjeopardize the continued enrollment status of the student due to hygiene/sanitationconcerns.6

SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDRENThe Catholic School community in the Diocese of St. Augustine has a goal of helping allchildren reach their full potential intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually.Individual schools establish admission policies for their own schools, which target studentswho are able to manage in a mainstream setting. Limited resources prevent us fromaccepting students who would require more than simple accommodations/minoradjustments.BIRTH AND BAPTISMAL CERTIFICATESThese certificates are to be submitted upon registration.HEALTH CERTIFICATESBlessed Trinity Catholic School will abide by the 1982 Florida Statutes, Chapter 232.0315regarding school-entry medical examinations as well as Chapter 232.032 regarding proofof immunization. Students will need to show proof of immunization to enroll in diocesanCatholic schools. These certificates must be on file when the student begins classes.Medical exemptions will only be considered if substantial evidence from a qualifiedmedical professional is presented, which indicates that vaccination would present a serioushealth risk, such as allergies, immunodeficiency, or neurological disorders. Schoolauthorities may request a second opinion from a medical professional of the school’sselection.WITHDRAWALSNON-VPK: When a student withdraws from school, parents must notify the school inwriting, giving the new address and the moving date. Any student withdrawing during theschool year will be charged the full tuition payment for the month he/she leaves if it occursafter the 15th of the month, or half the payment if the withdrawal is before the 15th of themonth. All financial responsibility must be satisfied at the time of withdrawal. Thetransferring school, upon request, will forward student records to the receiving school.Parents should contact the receiving school concerning the matter.VPK: The Early Learning Coalition allows parents to transfer a child once during the schoolyear. The parent must notify the school office that the child will be transferring to anotherschool. Once an authorized parent signs the final attendance sheet on the last day the childis in attendance at Blessed Trinity, the office will provide the parent with the VPK ChildEligibility and Enrollment Certificate.7

FINANCIAL POLICIES AND TUITIONVoluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK)- No Fees Non-Voluntary Pre-KindergartenRegistration Fee: 200.00 due at time of registration, non-refundable.Operational Fee: 425.00 non-refundableTUITIONVoluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK)Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten VoucherNon-Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten 4,090 per year ( 3,790 300 Service Hour Fee) Volunteer/Service Hours Fee: Families are assessed a 300.00 Volunteer fee.Each family is required to give 20 hours of service to the Blessed Trinity schoolcommunity. Hours should be completed between May 16, 2020 and May 14, 2021.Volunteers will be required to sign in and out in the front office. If volunteer hoursare completed off-site or outside of school office hours, documentation of the time ofservice, date, and nature of service should be submitted to the office. A refund of 15will be given for each hour served by May 14, 2021. * Please refer to the Volunteersection of this handbook for requirements of volunteering when children are present.A maximum credit of 300 per year may be refunded. If service fee is paid in full andstudent withdraws, a refund of 30 per month will be made for each full month thestudent is not in attendance. Approved service time must directly benefit the materialcondition or operation of the school. *Volunteer refunds will be given to VPK families not on Early Learning Coalitionscholarship. Families paying their tuition payment for the 2020-2021 school year by May 10,2020 will receive a 3% discount. We have contracted with FACTS Management Company to help us manage ourtuition payments. Your first payment is due June 20th or July 5th. It will be paid8

according to the payment option you chose when completing your FACTS enrollmentform. There will be a 36 fee assessed with your first tuition payment. There is a 25.00 fee should funds be unavailable at the time of transfer. Please read the FACTSTuition brochures for more information. Should your account become delinquent bytwo attempts to withdraw, the payment for the delinquent amount will become dueimmediately and paid directly to Blessed Trinity school office. FACTS will continueto access your bank account for the next regular tuition payment. If arrangements for past-due payments are not made immediately after receivingnotification, the family may not be accepted back for the next grading quarter, andall records will be held by the school until the debt is paid. Should this become arepeated occurrence throughout the school year, be advised that your child’s positionin Blessed Trinity Catholic School will be put in jeopardy. Tuition payments requiring manual handling outside of the FACTS system will becharged a 25 per month administration fee. Any family whose payments areconsistently managed through the school office or are frequently delinquent willbe required to pay the tuition in full by May 10th for the following school year. If any family becomes delinquent in its tuition payments due to serious financialdifficulties caused by illness, death, involuntary job loss or some other serious familycrisis, it is essential that the school be notified immediately. While a child is enrolled, there will be no refunds of tuition in case of absences orillnesses.PAYMENTS TO SCHOOLPayments made one week prior to distribution of report cards should be made in the form ofcash or cashier’s check. Any payment made to the school within the last two weeks of yourchild’s last day of school must be made in the form of cash or cashier’s check.RETURNED CHECK POLICYA 25 returned check fee will be assessed for any checks returned for insufficient funds, etc.The school will not accept checks from individuals/families that have had a check returned.All subsequent payments and fees must be made using a money order or cash.EMERGENCY INFORMATIONEach family should have on file in the school office an Emergency Information Formindicating the parents’ names and telephone numbers (home, work and cell). TWOPERSONS other than parents should be listed to contact in case we are unable to contact9

parents. These persons should be known by you to be available in your absence. Thisinformation should be kept up to date throughout the school year. Please let us knowof ANY CHANGE TO CONTACT INFORMATION.ATTENDANCEStudents may not miss more than 32 school days per school year or 8 school days perquarter. This includes excused or unexcused absences.Under conditions that warrant special consideration, the administration will make the finaldecision after meeting with the parents and teachers.Please observe the following:1.The homeroom teacher checks attendance. Students who are tardy are toreport to the school office. Class A students who are not in the cafeteria by8:00 a.m. or Class B students who arrive after the teacher has taken the classinside must obtain a tardy slip from the school office before going to theclassroom.2.Parents should notify the school of a child’s absence by calling the office priorto 9:00 a.m. (class A) or 12:30 p.m. (class B).3.If a student is absent, a VPK Absence Form must be presented to the schooloffice when the student returns.4.Students should be fever free for 24 hours without medication beforereturning to school.5.Regular and punctual attendance of students is necessary for success inschoolwork. All absences are unexcused except those due to illness, accidentor death in the immediate family.We strongly discourage taking students out of class for family vacationsduring the school year. The school calendar provides for extendedweekends throughout the school year. Parents are encouraged toschedule trips or family outings during these times so as to eliminatethe need to interrupt a child’s learning process.Families who take a vacation while school is in session that requires a childto be absent from school for more than one week may jeopardize the child’splace in the Pre-Kindergarten Program. Blessed Trinity School reserves theright to remove a child from enrollment if the child is absent due to a familyvacation for longer than five school days.10

6.If a student is to be excused early, a written excuse is to be presented tohis/her homeroom teacher. Please try to make doctor and dentistappointments after school hours whenever possible. Check the schoolcalendar for days off and any early dismissal dates, as these would be gooddays for making such appointments.7.Students leaving school early Must Be Signed Out In The Office. Theirparents or other duly authorized adult must pick up students.TARDINESSClass A - Students are to be in the cafeteria by 8:00 a.m. Students not in the cafeteria at8:00 a.m. will be marked tardy. Please make every effort for students to arrive on time toavoid classroom disruption.Class B – Students will be dismissed from their cars at 11:40 a.m. Anyone arriving afterthe teacher has taken the class inside will be marked tardy.1.2.A student may be marked tardy unexcused three times in a grading period.If your child is late due to a medical appointment, a doctor’s note should bepresented at the time of arrival in order to receive an excused tardy. If a noteis not presented, your child will receive an unexcused tardy.SCHOOL CANCELLATIONSchool closures are authorized by the Diocese of St. Augustine Superintendent of CatholicSchools. Should the school find the need to close, you will be notified by a parent alertand/or email. In the case of a natural disaster such as a hurricane, individual school closureswill be posted on the Diocese of St. Augustine website.ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL PROCEDURESArrivalClass A and Early Bird - Carpool drop-off will begin at 7:40 a.m.Class B – Carpool drop-off will begin at 11:40 a.m.All students are to be dropped off in the carpool line to avoid people crossing through thecars. No student should get out of his/her vehicle until a supervisor begins carpool.11

DismissalOnce students have been brought out to carpool, they will only be released to vehicles inthe carpool line. No person is to cross between cars once carpool has started.Any student who is going home with someone that is not his or her parent/legal guardianmust have that person’s name listed on his/her carpool release list or bring in a written notecontaining the date and signature of parent/guardian.Students in Class A that have not been picked up by 11:15 a.m. will be placed in LunchBunch at the expense of the parent/legal guardian. Any student that has not been pickedup by 3:05 p.m. will be placed in the Extended Care Program at the expense of theparent/legal guardian and must be picked up by 6:00 p.m.EXTENDED DAY PROGRAMS(Available for an additional fee)See After-School Care Handbook for more information and enrollment forms. MORNING CARE ( 23.00 per month or 2.00 a day)Morning care is available from 6:30 a.m. until 7:40 a.m. All students who plan to stayin extended morning must be enrolled in the program. You must walk your child intothe morning care room and sign them in. There is a separate charge for this program. EARLY BIRD ( 160 per month or 6.00 per hour)Early Bird is from 8:00 a.m. – 11:40 a.m. All students who plan to stay in the EarlyBird program must be enrolled. Enrollment forms should be obtained from the schooloffice. There is a separate charge for this program. LUNCH BUNCH ( 160 per month or 6.00 per hour)Lunch Bunch is from 11:10 a.m. – 2:50 p.m. All students who plan to stay in LunchBunch must be enrolled in the program. Enrollment forms should be obtained from theschool office. There is a separate charge for this program. AFTERNOON EXTENDED CARE ( 160 per month or 6.00 per hour)Extended Care is from 2:50 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. All students who plan to stay inextended care must be enrolled in the program. Enrollment forms should be obtainedfrom the school office. There is a separate charge for this program. No aftercare isprovided the last day of classes before Christmas Break.NO STUDENT MAY REMAIN UNSUPERVISED ON SCHOOL GROUNDS AFTERREGULAR DISMISSAL TIME.12

Students wishing to remain on campus in order to attend an after-school activity that doesnot begin immediately after dismissal MUST be with a parent or other designated adult atall times. Unsupervised students will be sent to After-School Care for the appropriate fee.INSURANCEThe Diocese requires mandatory Student Accident Insurance for all students in CatholicSchools.
