MAY 2012I.TTITANIUM LINE S-SERIES & K-SERIESPUBLIC USE OPERATOR MANUALINTRODUCTIONTITANIUM LINE S-SERIES AND K-SERIES PUBLIC USE LIFTShe Ricon Titanium Line S-Series and K-Series Public Use wheelchair lifts providewheelchair access to public use vehicles including buses, school buses and large multipurpose vehicles, and are DOT compliant. The Ricon S-Series has a solid, one-piece platformthat is raised and folded into the vehicle when stowed. The platform on the Ricon K-Series splits horizontallyto reduce overall lift height when stowed. This results ina less obstructed view, either into or out of the vehicle. The mechanical linkages provide smooth movement toboth non-skid platforms where the wheelchair and occupant are situated during the “Up” and “Down” lift motions. RiconThe Ricon Titanium Line S-Series and K-Series Public Use wheelchair lifts have a rated load capacity of1,000 pounds, (454) kilograms. All S-Series and K-Series Public Use wheelchair liftscontain electro-hydraulic pumps with built-in manualbackup pumps. If a wheelchair lift loses power, it can beraised or lowered manually.Trained personnel operate the wheelchair lift by using adurable and water resistant control pendant. The control pendant is used to unfold the platform out from thevehicle (deploy). The operator securely fastens the occupant restraint belt by inserting the belt tongue into thebelt buckle and listens for a “click” then “tug” on the beltto ensure the occupant restraint belt is securely fastened. The passenger boards the center of the non-skid platform, facing outward then locks thewheelchair brakes. The operator lowers the platform to the ground then unfastens the occupantrestraint belt. After the passenger departs, the platform is stowed back into the vehicle. This manual contains warranty information, safety precautions, operating and maintenance instructions that apply to the Ricon Titanium Line S-Series and K-Series Public Use wheelchairlifts. It is important to user safety that the lift operator be completely familiar with the operatinginstructions. Once the lift is installed, it is very important that the lift be properly maintained byfollowing the Ricon recommended maintenance and inspection instructions provided in ChapterIII.A.PRODUCT SUPPORTIf there are questions about this manual, or you need copies, please contact Ricon ProductSupport at the following location:Ricon Corporation7900 Nelson RoadPanorama City, CA 91402 .
