DSS can be turned on andoff with the volume control knob on the radioor steering wheel volume control buttons.DSS will give your music a new dimension bysimulating a surround sound feel. You canenable DSS by turning the volume controlknob on the radio up two increments andthen down two increments within threeseconds. You will hear a momentaryattenuation in the sound when the systemswitches to DSS mode. You can also enableDSS with the steering wheel volume controlbuttons in the same way. Press the volume upbutton twice and then the volume downbutton twice within three seconds. To disableDSS just repeat the same process.Note: the balance is automatically controlledwhen you are in DSS mode. In fact, an easyway to tell whether you are in DSS or nonDSS mode is to try the balance control. Using a panel removal tool gently pry the trim piece loose between the driver’s side front door andthe end of the dash. Fig. 12. Using a ratchet, a six inch extension and a 10mm socket remove the two bolts securing the metalstrap in front of the amplifier.
