As human beings, we need a cornerstone or reference point so that our lives can be properly placed and positioned. Ourcornerstone determines not only how we see ourselves but who we will become. Without a cornerstone or reference point, we will be disconnected, disoriented, and poorly positioned for effective action in our world. In order to be the children of God we are, Jesus Christ needs to be ourcornerstone and the reference point for all that we do. He alone is the Good Shepherd who can guide through life’s questions and challenges, bringing us to proper pasture. Without this proper base, we can easily fall into the trap of self-aggrandizement and quickly lose our way. If thathappens, then moral principles, proper conduct, justice, wisdom, and virtue will be difficult to find. We need to listen to the right voices and allowGod to show us how to build our house well. Salvation only comes from God and only God will protect us, no matter the AMAM/#55 6 /'5 Seven Dolors † Helen DehnSeven Dolors † Norbert DehnSaint Benedict † Steve MorgelSaint Anthony † Cletus EnngelmeierSeven Dolors † Linus KalthoffSeven Dolors † James OehrleinSaint Benedict † Edna KremersSaint Martin † Jenny DollSeven Dolors † Elmer Kohorst*Seven Dolors † Alma BuermanSaint Catherine † Karen WinkelsSeven Dolors † Hubert & Agatha ZierdenSaint Benedict † Leon SmithSaint Anthony For The People of Harvest of Hope ParishesSaint Martin † Bill & Frances RothsteinSaint Benedict †Steve MorgelSeven Dolors † Howard Krebs2#5614#. 5'48 %'5 ReconciliationSaturdays 4:30 PM Seven DolorsSundays 8:00 AM Saint AnthonyThursdays 7:30 AM Saint Benedict8:00 AM Saint MartinFridays8:00 AM Seven DolorsAnointing of the SickHome Bound CommunionPastoral VisitationPrayer RequestsIf you have any of the above pastoralneeds, please contact your Parish Office.

# 016' (41/ (4 '&9#4& 8' '.70 )QQF 5JGRJGTF 5WPFC[ A veteran Faith Formation Coordinator once told me that sherecommends every family to keep a picture of Jesus as the GoodShepherd in a child’s room for the first years of life. The idea beingthat the gentleness of the scriptural imagine naturally portrays a senseof love and protection to a small child. It is only over time, with a lot ofcatechesis and reflection, that we come to see the cross as portrayingthe same type of love for us.Since sheep and goats were commonly domesticated animals inbiblical times, the references to shepherds are many and varied. Abelwas a shepherd, and thus found favor with God. Abraham, Isaac, andJacob were shepherds, who wondered throughout the land of Canaan.Kings were encouraged to be good shepherds of their people. Psalm23 prayerfully suggests “the Lord is my shepherd,” and speaks of thetrust and assurance afforded as a result.Jesus builds off this tradition by assuring that he is the Good Shepherd who will care for his flock. “I am the good shepherd. A goodshepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” That is an imagineworthy of prayerful reflection for disciples of Christ at any age.%JCPIKPI .CPFUECRG QH VJG 2CPFGOKE Two significant landmarks were reached last weekend in our longjourney with the Coronavirus. The first gives us hope that there will begreater normalcy in the coming months. Half of American adults, above the age of 16 have now received at least one dose of a Covidvaccine. The second gives cause for prayer. Over three million people havenow died from Covid complications around the globe. The rate ofdeaths is growing exponentially faster around the world, even as it isslowing in America and Europe. It is alarming to note that the regionshardest hit now are less economically developed where resources forvaccines, medical treatment, and mitigation are not as widely available. These regions face the same tensions and struggles to sustain ordinary life as we have. Pope Francis encourages us to see that “thepandemic will not end until it ends for everyone.”The choice to be vaccinated is a personal choice most of us willconsider. There are many aspects to reflect on, and it is wise to consult a doctor and to look for scientific evidence, rather than relying onspeculation that we hear from others. Ultimately, it is a moral choicethat has implications not only for ourselves and our loved ones, butperhaps even to people we will never meet.Scripture Quote for the WeekBeloved:See what love the Father has bestowed on usthat we may be called the children of God.Yet so we are.The reason the world does not know usis that it did not know him.Beloved, we are God’s children now;what we shall be has not yet been revealed. We do know that when it is revealed we shall be like him,for we shall see him as he is.1John 3:1-2.'#&'45* 2 Pastor: Father Edward Vebelun, OSB320 492-6877 pastor@hohcatholic.orgParochial Vicar: Father Julius Beckermann, OSB320 223-5463 jbeckermann@csbsju.eduSacramental Priest: Father Greg Miller, OSB320 291-5223 glmiller@csbsju.eduBusiness Manager: Charlene Lahr320 241-2159 charlene.lahr@hohcatholic.orgPastoral Associate: Toni Hudock320 845-5405 toni.hudock@hohcatholic.orgPastoral Assistant: Jason Prigge320 356-0763 jason.prigge@hohcatholic.orgChurch of Saint AnthonyOffice Hours: M & W 8am-noon; Th 8am-11amstanthony@hohcatholic.orgAdministrative Assistant: Joan Stich320 845-2416 stanthony@hohcatholic.orgChurch of Saint BenedictOffice Hours: M - W ive Assistant: Cheryl Kalis320 250-5618 cheryl.kalis@hohcatholic.orgFaith Formation: Jason Prigge320 356-0763 jason.prigge@hohcatholic.orgMusic & Liturgy: Abbey Dupuy320 356-0113 abbey.dupuy@hohcatholic.orgChurch of Saint MartinOffice Hours: T, W & Th e Assistant: Mary Jo Schlick320 548-3550 stmartin@hohcatholic.orgFaith Formation: Karen Pundsack & Joan Rothstein320 548-3550 stmartin.ff@hohcatholic.orgChurch of Seven DolorsOffice Hours: M - F 9am-2pmsevendolors@hohcatholic.orgAdministrative Assistant: Marion Gondringer320 845-2705 marion.gondringer@hohcatholic.orgFaith Formation: Toni Hudock320 845-5405 toni.hudock@hohcatholic.orgMusic & Liturgy: Karen Heitzman320 845-2705 karen.heitzman@hohcatholic.orgHoly Family School160 2nd St S Albany, MN 56307Principal: Maria Becker320 845-2011 hfsprincipal@holyfamilyalbany.comOratory of Saint CatherineContact Church of St Martin or: Barb Kohorst 320 548.3319Harvest of Hope Livestream MassTo access the Harvest of Hope livestream each week:1) Go to www.hohcatholic.org and click on LIVESTREAM MASS2) Go to www.youtube.com and type in ‘Harvest of Hope Mass’ and itwill be the first and only thing to pop-up (smart TVs and mobile devicesalso work)3) Go to munity4) myParish App

Doyou ever ask Him what He wants from you? How do you listen for Hisresponse? Many times Jesus responds in “quiet whispers” that are notso obvious. So, take time every day, in silence, to actively listen for Hisvoice.24#;'4 %140'4 All who are ill in our community, especially;Abbey Gertken, Al Malley, Alice Eichers, Alice Luethmers, Ann Summers,Anna May Fleischhacker, Arlene Landowski, Barb Tabatt, Bea Olmscheid,Bill Opatz, Bill Scepaniak, Brayden Harren, Bryan Goebel,Bud & Jean Terres, Chad Fruechte, Dennis Nack, Diane Rotter,Ervin Zierden, Fr.
