concrete should be Shot-, Water- or Abrasive-blasted.Grease spots and oil should be chemically cleaned withappropriate cleaners or mechanically removed .Asphalt - New asphalt must be cured a minimum of 28days prior to application. Old asphalt must be free ofloose aggregate, dirt and be dry. New and old asphaltshould be Shot-, Water- or Abrasive-blasted. Lowerambient temperature will help to make cleaning processmore effective. Grease spots and oil should be cleanedwith appropriate cleaners or mechanically removed.Metal - Should be thoroughly cleaned by grinding orblast cleaning. Be aware of dew point and check itbefore every application on metal surface.Plywood - The only acceptable grade of plywood is APArated exterior grade or better. The appearance andphysical characteristics of the plywoodand grade shouldbe considered. Plywood should be new or cleaned andsanded.Priming: To promote adhesion and minimize outgassing, priming is recommended on all surfaces except for newplywood. New plywood priming is optional. Concrete, Old Plywood - Sikalastic PF Lo-VOC Primer, Sikalastic FTP Lo-VOC Primer , Metal - Sikalastic PF Lo-VOC Primer, Sikalastic EP Primer Asphalt - Sikalastic Recoat Primer, Sikalastic EP PrimerAPPLICATIONMixingIt is essential that proper mixing methods and tools areused to ensure proper application of Sikagard -7600 HG. Mixing Drill: Low Speed Mixing Drill ( 400-600 rpm) Mixing Paddle: Jiffy Mixer ( 5-50 Gallon Model) or MudMixing Paddle ( 9-5/8" WIDE x 6-1/4" DEEP) Premixing: Premix each pail of Sikagard -7600 HG PartB (4.05 gal.) using the recommended drill and mixingpaddle at slow speed for a minimum of 1.5 minutes toensure Sikagard -7600 HG Part B is a homogeneousmixture. Mixing A & B component: With mixing paddle in thePart-B, turn on mixing drill and begin mixing Sikagard 7600 HG Part B, and while the mixing paddle isspinning slowly add one 0.45 gallon can of Sikagard 7600 HG Part-A to the center of the vortex created bythe mixing paddle. Once Part-A has been added, mixcontinuously for an additional 3 minutes using a veryslow up and down motion, making sure full pail ismixed evenly, including the sides of the pail. NOTE: Take care not to allow entrapment of air intothe material. Do not mix in an aggressive up and downmotion. Do not estimate mixing time. Do not thin. Donot hand mix. Mix the whole pail. Do not batch down.If a greenish hue can be seen at the top of the pail thenproduct has not been mixed properly.Product Data SheetSikagard -7600 HGJanuary 2020, Version 01.030203030200300000123/6Top: Jiffy Style Paddle Bottom: Mud Mixing Paddle

Phase 1 (Primer): When required; prime the surface atthe rate of 1 gal / 200 - 300 sq.ft. . Apply using a brush orphenolic core roller. This will result in 5 - 7 dry mils ofcoating. Priming is optional. Don’t prime over an existingdetail coat.NOTE: For rough or porous concrete or when outgassingis a concern, use Sikalastic PF Lo-VOC Primer orSikalastic FTP LoVOC Primer at an approximate rate of180 - 230 sq.f/1 gal. This rate may vary on the porosityof the substrate. Allow primer to become tack freebefore proceeding to the next phase.Phase 2 ( Cracks, Joints, Detailing):Detail Coat: Apply 30 mils of detail coat Sikagard 7600over all joints, transitions, cracks and flashing.Cracks inconcrete/asphalt over 1/8” must be filled with Sikagard 7600. Using Sikagard 7600 as caulking compound willshorten the curing time over conventional polyurethanecaulks.Reinforced Detail Coat: Apply 15 mils of detail coatSikagard 7600 over all joints, cracks and flashing.Cracks in concrete/asphalt over 1/8” must be filled withSikagard 7600 . Bridge joints, cracks, and flashings with3” or 6” FlexiTape Heavy pushing it into the Sikagard 7600 HG over all joints, cracks and flashings. Overreinforcement , apply 10–15 mils stripe coat ofSikagard 7600 and taper it onto adjacent surface. Allowthe surface to cure for 4-6 hours before the next phase.Reinforced Joint Detail : Apply 60 mils strip coat ofSikagard 7600HG 6" on each side of the joint. Bridgejoint with 12” Sika Fleece 120 strip pushing it into theSikagard 7600HG . Over reinforcement, apply 60 milsstripe coat of Sikagard 7600 and taper it onto adjacentsurface. Allow the surface to cure for 4-6 hours beforethe next phase.Phase 3 (Coat #1): The first coat of Sikagard 7600 HGshould be applied at the rate of 48 sq.f/1 gal. resultingin 30 dry mils of membrane . Allow to cure (4-6 hours)before proceeding to Phase 4.Phase 4 (Coat #2): Apply the second coat of Sikagard 7600 HG at the rate of 48 sq.ft./1gal. resulting in 30dry mils of membrane.NOTE: If priming is not required skip Phase 1, andproceed with Phase 2 . Any adhesion test is to beperformed 3 days after product application.Sikagard 7600 HG can be applied over horizontal andvertical surface. Apply using a 3/8” roller or notchedsqueege and backroll . Please note that potlife forSikagard 7600 HG is only 30 minutes.Recoat: At 75 F (24 C) and 50 % relative humidity, recoating and multiple or second coats must becompleted within 16 hours of previousapplications of Sikagard 7600 HG. After this 16 hourwindow, it is necessary to abrade, clean and primesurface prior to recoating.Product Data SheetSikagard -7600 HGJanuary 2020, Version 01.030203030200300000124/6Reinforcement: please contact Sika Technical Service(polyester scrim is optional).Removal: Equipment should be immediately cleanedwith an environmentally safe solvent, as permittedunder local regulations.

LIMITATIONS Surfaces must be dry, clean and free of foreign matter.Clear coating may turn opaque and cloudy due tomoisture penetration, especially in exteriorapplications. Surface may be slippery when wet.Containers that have been opened must be used assoon as possible. Do not dilute under anycircumstance. Cured Sikagard 7600 HG may be placed in servicewithin 24 hours for non-aggressive service and nopotable water. Other service applications may requirea cure time of a minimum 96 hours or more. Pleasecontact Sika Technical Service for recommendedapplication. This product is available only in black color. Can beexposed to direct sunlight. Initially after application it isshiny black than after few months it will turn dull afterbeing exposed to direct sunlight. Observe the curing time before immersion into intoand service in potable water. Please see Desinfectionand cleaning guide. To avoid dew point conditions during application, relative humidity must be no more than 95 % andsubstrate temperature must be at least 5 F (3 C)above measured dew point temperatures. Minimum ambient and substrate temperature duringapplication and curing of material is 41 F (5 C);maximum is 95 F (35 C). Surface temperatures mustbe no higher than 110 F (43 C). New concrete must be cured a minimum of 28 daysprior to application . Do not store materials outdoors exposed to sunlightand moisture for prolonged periods. Do not apply to substrate surfaces where moisturevapor transmission will occur during application andcure. This condition should be checked using ASTM D4263 (Polyethylene Sheet method). Substrate must be dry prior to application. Do notapply to a frosted, wet or damp surface. Allowsufficient time for the substrate to dry after rain orinclement weather, as there is the potential forbonding problems. On substrates likely to exhibit outgassing apply duringfalling ambient and substrate temperature. If appliedduring rising temperature pin holing may occur. Do not apply when substrate is in direct sunlight. Precautions should be taken to prevent vapors and/orodors from entering the building/ structure, includingbut not limited to turning off and sealing air intakevents and through-wall air conditioners, and othermeans of vapor/odor ingress during application andcure. Please see Applying within Confined Spacesmanual. Any repairs required to achieve a level surface must beperformed prior to application (consult a Sikarepresentative for guidance on various productsolutions). Surface irregularities may reflect throughthe cured system.
