MPERA Job ClassificationsMPERA staff use the Job Classifications to help determine eligibility for membership and elections. TheJob Classification allows the employer to report if an employee is working in multiple jobs. Service Purchase TypeUnder certain conditions members may purchase service credit towards their retirement. The Service PurchaseType describes the category of service credit being purchased. For example, a Service Purchase type of “MILT”indicates the member is purchasing service credit earned while serving in the military. The interface file definitionit reads:Indicates the type of service purchase. The PERIS application must use the Code Value stored in PERIS for Service Purchase Types available.
