MissionThe Master of Science in Urban and Regional Planningprogram seeks to provide quality graduate training tocurrent and prospective professionals in public, private,and non-profit urban planning organizations. Theproposed program is designed to address the local needfor professionally trained planners. The curriculumfocuses on an interdisciplinary approach towardscreating opportunities for students to explore currentissues related to urban growth and development andbecome leaders in planning subfields, such astransportation, planning of healthy communities, andenvironmental planning.School of Public Administration

Service Learning Program OverviewService learning is a teaching method that is part of UCF’s initiative to provide a meansfor every student toenhance his or her academic program with experiential learning. Service learning withinthe School ofPublic Administration provides an opportunity for students to work with communitypartners bycollecting and compiling data and producing quality products that will be beneficial tononprofitorganizations. Students have been involved in the following projects: Volunteer program evaluation Strategic planning Grant proposals Nonprofit administration case study Nonprofit program evaluationService learning projects address community needs and require students to reflect ontheir activities to gainan appreciation for the relationship between civics and academics.
