The National Gallery of Art assumed stewardship of a world-renowned collection ofpaintings, sculpture, decorative arts, prints, drawings, and photographs with theclosing of the Corcoran Gallery of Art in late 2014. Many works from the Corcoran’scollection featured prominently in exhibitions held at that museum over its longhistory. To facilitate research on those and other objects included in Corcoranexhibitions, following is a list of all special exhibitions held at the Corcoran from1897 until its closing in 2014.Exhibitions for which a catalog was produced are noted. Many catalogs may befound in the National Gallery of Art Library (nga.gov/research/library.html), thelibraries at the George Washington University (library.gwu.edu/), or in the CorcoranArchives, now housed at the George Washington . Other materials documenting many ofthese exhibitions are also housed in the Corcoran Archives.
