Finally, we ended withthe 66 th annual ew England MonumentDealer convention in Sturbridge, Massachusett. turbridge i alway a big how for theBGA and its member being 0 close to Yennont.I believe one of the be t parts of industry show is the ab ility to meet face to face with 0many loya l customers of our members. Farewell Dearriendsen the history of Barre granite in the20 th century is written, it will be hardnot to fmd innumerable reference toRouleau Granite. The reason for that is simple. They were one of the largest producers of granitemonuments in Barre and one of its key emplo ers.Started in 1942 by Rodolphe Rouleau, RouleauGranite grew steadily over the years to becomeone of the nation's top manufacturer before itsrecent sale to John A. Demavich, Inc. Th plantand name still remain today, although no Rouleaus are employed at the bu ine .The Barre Granite Association wanted to takea moment and thank Rouleau Granite for all that ithas done for our organization and community.Every Rouleau served on the BGA at one time oranother, with Lucien serving as President foryears. They were members of the BGA for morethan 40 years and critical to our success. Over 80families are employed by Rouleau Granite, making them one of the largest employers in thisarea. We wish Ray Bert and Paul well as theymove on to new venture and plea ures in theirlives. We also salute Rodolphe. Lu ien. andMarcy, who although are no lon a r with . \ illalways remain in our memorie and h arts.WBack row: Bert, Marcy, and RayFront Row: Paul, Rodolphe, and LucienRouleau ra nPaul, Bert, and Ray la t urnmerThe Rouleau Granite plant hosting one of its many "picnics"for employees and the community.BarreLIFE

New and ImprovedThe Warranty Programspoke about changes to the BGA warrantyprogram in my notes from the E.D. We hope thefollowing information will explain the process thathould be followed by both manufacturer and retailers.Again I would like to say that although the changescreate some additional paperwork, we believe the newcertificates will enhance the BGA warranty program. The new BGA Seal will be u ed on all granite product manufactured by BGA members, regardless of color. The seal and pre-numbered certificate is your guaranteeof Barre craftsmanship and covers you in the event of adefect in the product. If a BGA eal is sandblasted into amonument, make sure you receive a pre-numberedcertificate from the manufacturer. The CM Seal will nolonger be used effective April 2, 2001.You will notice on page 11 that the actual certificateremains the same. Wording in the certificate has beenadded to address the registration card and how it shouldbe returned to the BGA office. When a certificate isissued the manufacturer will complete the top portion ofthe registration card labeled ection A, and remove itfrom the certificate. On the back of section A, labeledsection B, the manufacturer will provide information onthe monument by completing the sections for Die, Base,Marker, SIB Carved, SIB Lettered, and/or Other. All theinformation on the back of the actual certificate will becompleted as well. From there the information will beent to the BGA office to be entered into a database, which will reference the information to the serial number on the certificate. The retail customer will receive the warranty certificate, complete the regi tration card labeled C, and thenend the card back to the BGA office. The return registration card is de igned to comply with U.S. Postalregulations for bu ine reply mail and will require nopostage from the cu tomer. The BGA office will thencomplete the information in the database again referencing the data to the erial number on the certificate.- continued on page 8 -BusinessOwnersWith the experience that comes fromserving the need of more than 480,000business owners, we can help you :Hans Asoera322 North tl laj 11 trecl' uilc .Ba rre, \IT 05641802 -. 76-6200www.edwardjone .Member SIPC simplify your finances; build financial independencefor reti rement; protect your family's financialsecurity; plan for the continuation ofyour business; and reduce your tax burden.Call or stop by today for more information.0 111EdwardJoneserving lndividuallnve torMMrreLIFEince 1871
