The shear frame, bed and cutter headassemblies are constructed of heavy-duty castiron. The shear bed is machined and then surfaceground to precision tolerances to ensure anaccurate working surface. These shears feature triaction, high-carbon highchromium (HCHC) steel blades. Both the upperand lower blades have a 2-degree edge relief andthe lower blade has an additional 1-degree facerelief for maximum material penetration withminimum effort. Triaction blades help preventmaterial movement while shearing, prolongingblade life.TENNSMITH shears have the most completeadjustment features of any sheet metal shear12on the market. The lower shear blade is bedadjusting and the upper blade is adjustable bymeans of a truss bar on the cutter head. Thespring-activated holddown feet clamp the workpiece securely in place and are easily adjustable tocompensate holding pressure for light or heavygauge material. There is ample clearance betweenthe holddown feet and shear blades to allowgood operator vision for line-of-sight cutting. The standard, double-locking back gauge, whichfeatures embossed scales and vernier wheels forfine adjustment, gives highly accurate readings.Foot-squaring ShearsModel 36Model 52Maximum shearing capacity, mild steel16 gauge/1.6 mm16 gauge/1.6 mmMaximum shearing capacity, stainless steel20 gauge/1.0 mm20 gauge/1.0 mmMaximum cutting length37 in./940 mm52-1/4 in./1327 mmBack gauge range30 in./762 mm30 in./762 mmFront gauge range37 in./940 mm37 in./940 mmFloor space, gauges in position45 x 80 in.1143 x 2032 mm60 x 80 in.1524 x 2032 mmDimensions, less gauges, LxWxH46-1/2 x 27 x 42 in.1181 x 686 x 1067 mm61 x 36 x 42 in.1550 x 915 x 1067 mmShipping weight700 Ibs./317.5 kg950 Ibs./431 kgStandard equipment includes a back gauge, front extension arms with stop, bevel gauge and graduated side scales.Additional option: Squaring arm.
