QUILT-A-GRAMBooneslick StarJanuary, 2009Member of Heartland Quilt NetworkFrom the CEO.Wow! What a wonderful quilt show! If youserved on the quilt show committee, worked atthe show as a volunteer, or made some of thedonated items for the silent auction or marketplace, please stop what you are doing and patyourself on the back. It takes so much work toput on this quilt show, and while we all love seeing our work on display, our guild has to pull together to get this done. My heartfelt thanks toall of those who contributed for your dedicationto the guild. We have some great opportunities to improveyour skills coming up this new year, beginningwith Bettina's workshop and the punchneedleclass in January. I'm looking forward to somequiet time when my children are all in town---Ihave to give up my sewing room, but find that Ihave extra time for handwork as we all "hangout" in the living room. I've been trying to getorganized, but I found myself busy over theweekend starting the quilt pattern from Thursday night's meeting. The pack of charm blockswas so inspiring that I picked out the background fabric and got started. This was not exactly on my schedule, but I'll catch up on mygoals this weekend.I hope that all of you have a wonderful holiday and I look forward to all the activities ofthe New Year! BethJANUARY MEETING DATES:Day Chapter: Jan. 5 —1:00 p.m.*Starlight Chapter: Jan. 8—7:00 p.m.*Doors Open at 9:00 a.mOUR MEETING PLACE:Fairview United Methodist Church3200 Chapel Hill Rd., Columbia, MO 65203Vol. 31, Issue 7January Programs . . .Day Chapter—We have a brand new year andour January meeting is an opportunity to get your quilting year started. Quilt Show Review . . .Well, everyone .you provided an outstanding display of beautiful, beauti-ful quilts—you were a big success! What a wonderful showing for your 30th anniversary quilt show. I lostcount of how many times people looked me up to tell me how beautiful our show was. And, the vendors werevery happy. We maxed out the Expo this year, gang, with 354 quilts and 21 vendors .but thanks to an outstanding quilt show committee and outstanding volunteers, we pulled off a professional looking show andmade it look reasonably easy. The following is your quilt show committee for 2008 .I wish we had roomto list all the people who volunteered and worked so hard during the week end .MindyAdvertising Layout Props Publishing Quilt Market Raffle Quilt Silent Auction Special Projects Vendors Volunteers -Marie Sloan and Margaret MuegenburgJackie BerryPatti CantuJan Oehrle, Willie MorrisCarrol Lewis, Judy GieselmanNancy AntonioSally Johnson, Suzanne HenageBettina Havig, Kay Grebing, Susan Henry-Schwendinger, Willie Morris,Sharon Lawler, Emma Jo Raines, Mona StevensonDennis SmithPat Leister, Donna BurrisEggnog Dessert:**2 pkg.
