West AfricaMissionHappenings“. . . Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature – Mark 16:15”A work of the church of ChristGreetings from all of your brothers andsisters throughout West Africa. Thegospel light is shining bright as theworkers continue to labor in the vineyardof our Lord. In this report, we willoutline some of the happenings over the period. The Church Expands in TogoI love the song “Soldiers of Christ Arise!” Whetherwe realize it or not, Christians are at war throughoutthe world. We are fighting this war in West Africawhere Satan is attempting to prevail through Islam, idolatry, and false teachers. A battle was recentlywaged in the town of Basaar in northern Togo.Ghanaian and Togolese evangelists came togetherto preach the gospel publicly and house to house. We preached over the radio airwaves, as the call toprayers echoed from the mosques throughout thispredominantly Islamic city. We sat down andstudied with the residents as others attempted todivert their attentions away from the truth. Weshowed Bible films and preached publicly in theevenings as many gathered to hear more about thetrue doctrine of Christ. Before we left, five soulswere baptized into Christ, others had promised tostudy, and a new congregation was worshiping inSpirit and in Truth. A battle has been won, but thewar wages on. Islam is pressing down from thenorth, false teachers are sprouting up everywhereyou look, and many are becoming so confused thatthey look towards the animistic religion of theirfathers to satisfy their spiritual needs. We mustcontinue to preach the Good News if the war will bewon in West Africa. We are ready for the fight! Many are hearing the words of truth that can savetheir souls. We thank you so much for yourprayers, encouragement, and support!July - August 2012Tidbits from the SchoolsWith your help, the gospel is being proclaimedthroughout West Africa, and dozens of leaders arebeing trained at the Bible schools to prepare them tobuild up the church in this part of the world.
