A SIMPLEPRAYER RULE

Having a consistent“rule” of daily prayer asthe foundation of yourprayer life is the firststep toward unceasingprayer.Although the Church gives us theLiturgy of the Hours to encourageprayer throughout the day, the bookitself can be difficult to navigate not to mention a little bulky to carryaround. That’s why Christians throughouthistory - especially in the ChristianEast - have developed short, easilyremembered “prayer rules.” These“rules” can be easily adapted to yourstate in life, and carried “in the heart”so that you’re never without yourprayer book. Here is the short rule of prayer that Itry to use every day to keep my heartpresent to the One Who is alwayspresent with me.praycontinually,(cf. 1 Thessalonians 5:17)
