NAIDOC DAYLast Thursday our school held a modified NAIDOCDay of cultural learning. Throughout the day intheir class groups students took part in art, physical education and cooking activities. Theseactivities taught the children about AboriginalCultural methods for undertaking these activitiesin a fun setting. Prior to lunch the student leadersled a short assembly where they outlined thisyear's NAIDOC theme: Healing Country. At thistime Aunty Kate cut the NAIDOC cake which hasbeen a tradition of this day for many years.Unfortunately this year she was not able to sharethe cake with the students due to COVIDrestrictions. As the photos show, this was a funevent that linked our students to the NAIDOCtheme and cultural learning beautifully.CHPS GV TERM 3 WEEK 2
