JAMIE STORRJamie Storr was born on December 28, 1975 in Brampton, Ontario and has been successful in hisendeavours, as a goalie, both on and off the ice. Jamie’s road to international glory first began in1991 when he was the first goaltender selected in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) entry draft.While playing in the OHL, Storr also represented Canada extensively during his junior career,winning World Championship Gold medals at the; U-17, U-18 and at the U-20 level twice. Storrearned the honour of being named the tournament’s Best Goaltender at the 1995 U-20 WorldChampionship. This accomplishment at the 1995 World Junior Hockey Championship earnedJamie a spot, as back-up goalie, on the Team Canada National Men’s Team, where he capturedanother Gold Medal, and doubled his tally to win two World Championships in 1995.A successful Junior career with the Owen Sound Platers and Windsor Spitfires of the OHL, paired with hissuccesses in International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) competitions, resulted in the young goaltender beingdrafted 7th overall in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft, where Storr was selected by the Los Angeles Kings. Storr madehis professional debut as a King on January 24, 1995 at the age of 19. He was named to the NHL All-Rookieteam twice, in 1997-1998 and 1998-1999 and remained a member of the Kings until the 2003-2004 season.Storr would play two more years in the NHL as a member of the Carolina Hurricanes. In 2006 Storr took histalents overseas and signed with the German DEG Metro Stars of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. Storr retiredafter three years with the DEG Metro Stars in 2009 and his success off the ice began. Over the years Storrhas been a guest on the TSN sports show Off the Record. After retirement from hockey, Jamie created theJamie Storr Goalie School which operates out of the Toyota Sports Center in El Segundo, California. Storrhas been teaching and inspiring young goalie hopefuls in Southern California where he now resides. Thesehockey camps, clinics and private lessons teach the skills required to become a goalie inhockey. DAN TEATDespite playing 211 games in the National Lacrosse League, Dan Teat, born December 9,1971, played his entire career in a Brampton Excelsior uniform. Teat first wore Excelsior coloursas a five year old playing in the Brampton Minor Lacrosse Association. In 1988 Dan began hisJunior career. Teat played 5 years as a member of the Ontario Lacrosse Association’s BramptonJunior ‘A’ Excelsiors, earning the 1988 Junior ‘A’ Rookie of the Year Award.Although he had successful Minor and Junior careers, it was his success and accomplishmentsas a Senior and Professional player and later as a coach that he will be remembered for. In 1993Teat suited up for the Brampton Major Excelsiors for the first time. Dan could not ask for a betterrookie season, as he won the Major Series Lacrosse, Rookie of the Year Award and won the first of his sixMann Cup Championships, 1993, 1998, 2002, 2008 and 2009 as a player and again in 2011, this time asa coach.Dan’s successes continued in the National Lacrosse League where he scored 316 goals, added 354 assistsfor 670 points in just 211 games and together with his Junior and Major stats, Dan amassed an incredible2,220 points during his playing days. He added to his list of Championship titles in 2007 as a member of theRochester Knighthawks of the National Lacrosse League. Dan has played with and against several, prospectiveCanadian Lacrosse Hall of Famers, such as, Mike Hasen, Jim Veltman, Josh Sanderson, Dan Dawson andBrodie Merrill. It has been said, that, great players do not always make great coaches. This is not the casefor Dan Teat. As a coach he has won the following honours; Ontario Peewee Gold Medal, Canadian BantamGold Medal with Team Ontario and Ontario Midget Gold Medal at the Ontario Summer Games to go alongwith his Mann Cup in 2011.Dan has been a credit to the game of lacrosse, not only in Brampton, but across Canada for the past 38 yearsas a player and then continuing as a coach, passing on the essentials of the game to youth inBrampton. DEWITH FRAZERBorn in Jamaica, Dewith comes from a family of 4. He is the eldest with three younger sisters. In1976, he and his family moved to Brampton where he has resided ever since. Dewith began boxingat 14 and began competing at 15 and one year later was the national champion at 147 lbs. Thissuccess propelled him into the world of amateur boxing where he retired with an amateur recordof 153 wins and 22 losses. Prior to turning professional, Dewith represented Canada at the 1982Commonwealth games and numerous competitions such as the Australian Games, Liverpool Cup,Canada Cup and other dual country events. In 1984, he made his Olympic appearance at theLos Angeles games. Dewith had a brief professional career before deciding to turn his passionfor the sport to coaching.His athletes have claimed numerous provincial, national and international championships. In 1992 ChrisJohnson won a bronze medal at the Barcelona Olympics who at the time was coached under Dewith. In 1995he promoted the first women’s professional boxing card in Ontario, demonstrating that he is a pioneer inboxing and has great insight into the industry. In 1996 and 2000, Dewith had his own boxers, Troy Ross andMark Simmons; represent Canada at the Atlanta and Sydney Olympics where he served as head coach of theCanadian Boxing team. In 2004, Dewith advocated for Pardeep Nagre to be able to compete as an amateurboxer with facial hair due to religion.Dewith has served as a strong leader and coach at the local, provincial, national and international level formany years. Not only has he coached many boxers he has volunteered his time at the provincial and nationallevel governing bodies. He held a position on the Board of Directors as a board member for 3 years for theCanadian Amateur Boxing Association and in 1998 served as the Central Region Director at Boxing Ontariohelping to develop the sport of boxing.Dewith has successfully owned and operated a boxing club since 1987. Dewith has excelled as an athlete,coach, volunteer and industry leader. He is also the father of three boys with his wife Janice to whom he hasbeen married to for 25 years. HERBERT 'HERBIE' PHILLIPSHerbert Phillips, better known as “Herbie” around the Lacrosse arena, was born on February 11,1933. He was married to his wife Mary for over 60 years and together they had two children, adaughter Janet and a son Tom. Herbie Phillips has been impacting sport, specifically lacrossefor over 50 years in Brampton as a volunteer. He has actively been involved with the BramptonExcelsior Lacrosse Club (BELC) volunteering as a Coach, Team Manager and Executive Memberwhere he was President for 5 years (1986-91). Herbie's time spent with the BELC Board resultedin 8 Mann Cup Canadian Championship titles. Herbie was one of lacrosse's most respected offfloor game officials from 1970 to 2013 spanning over 1500 games or 4,500 hours. Phillips ranthe 30 second shot-clock at every Brampton Junior 'A’, Junior 'B’ and Major game during these 43 years.The new press box at Memorial Arena, where the shot-clock is operated from, will be named in honour ofHerbie Phillips.Herbie also found time to be a volunteer at the Ontario Lacrosse Hall of Fame in St. Catharines. In May2013 Herbie was honoured, by the BELC for his 50 years of service to the game of lacrosse. Herbie beganhis association with the Excelsiors in 1963 and his dedication to the game of lacrosse will be missed as hewas an individual who didn't volunteer for personal gain but rather for the betterment of lacrosse.In 1988 Herbie received The Presidential Award, from The Ontario Lacrosse Association, one year laterhe was awarded a Brampton Excelsior Lacrosse Club Life Membership distinction. In 2007 Herbie wasenshrined into The Ontario Lacrosse Hall of Fame as a Builder. In 2012 the BELC named their Junior 'B'team's “Unsung Hero Award” in Herbie’s honour. At the time of Herbie's death he was one of only six ExcelsiorBoard Members to ever be given the distinction of 'Honorary Life Director'.Inducted May 13, 2014 to the

BERT NAYLORBert played his Minor lacrosse in Brampton for eight years before joining the Junior “A”Excelsiors in 1955. Bert was a key member of the Junior Excelsior teams for five yearscapturing the Eastern Canadian Championship in 1956 before winning three consecutiveMinto Cup Canadian Championships in 1957, 1958 and 1959. Bert then played with theSenior 'A' Excelsiors for five years, in the early 1960's, going to the Mann Cup finals in1961 and 1962.Bert found additional ways to contribute to the game of lacrosse after his retirement from the game.In 1963, he was appointed by the Ontario Lacrosse Association to the position of Coordinator/Administrator of the first lacrosse clinics ever organized for the youth of Ontario. In associationwith this position he was the appointed Technical Adviser for the first Instructional/Promotionalfilm produced for lacrosse. In 1968 and 1969 Bert coached the Junior 'A' Long Branch team andin 1977 he founded the Thornhill Minor Lacrosse Association.Naylor found time to both coach and referee in the Brampton Minor system. He officiated at theMinor, Junior and Senior box lacrosse levels; including three Minto Cup and three Mann CupChampionship Series. He refereed field lacrosse at the minor, high school, junior, senior anduniversity levels. Bert is a Life Member of the Ontario Lacrosse Association, a Life Member of theBrampton Excelsior Lacrosse Club and a Life Member of the Ontario Lacrosse RefereesAssociation.
