OBJECTIVES & IMPLICATIONS OF MEDIA VISIT :The media visit in Quetta aimed at achieving two-fold objective of showcasing the skill set of youth of Pakistan in the key economicsectors. The visit provided a platform to introduce the trained human resource of Pakistan in vocational and technical area forproviding ease of access to the recruiters of leading enterprises for job opportunities under one umbrella.Through this visit, a high-level mainstream media exposure was anticipated for highlighting the intervention of programme in thearea of TVET for the TV and print coverage.The media visit was expected to achieve Support in highlighting Competency-Based Training and Workplace-Based Training initiatives, Showcasing of public-private partnership, Skills showcasing of CBT trainees, TVET Sector Support Programme visibility and; Media coverage.

Day 1 Coverage ReportTVET Sector Support Programme organized a Media Exposure Visit of the Technical Training Centres in Balochistan. A group ofsenior journalists from leading media outlets was invited to tour the facilities of the learning environment and observe howappropriate and demand-driven training is provided to Baloch youth of both genders.They visited both the Women Technical Training Center (WTTC) and the Boys Technical Training Center (BTTC) where a total of,120 students (male and female) are enrolled in various training courses in the projects supported through the training fund initiativeof TVET Sector Support Programme. The programme is working with NAVTTC, provincial TEVTAs and PVTC since 2011 forbringing reforms in TVET Sector. Journalists also had one-on-one interaction sessions with the trainees to comprehend theirfirsthand experiences.They recognized the impact of the TVET Sector Support Programme which is being funded by the European Union, the FederalRepublic of Germany, and the Royal Norwegian Embassy, commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for EconomicCooperation and Development (BMZ), and is being implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit(GIZ) in improving employment opportunities for the youth of Balochistan

Day 2 Coverage ReportTVET Sector Support Programme is working with Government and Private Enterprises in generating employment opportunities forthe youth of Balochistan. In the second phase of its implementation, the programme is supporting competency-based training of36,800 men and women in indigenous and industry-demand-driven trades. The Programme is funded by the European Union, theFederal Republic of Germany, and the Royal Norwegian Embassy, commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for EconomicCooperation and Development (BMZ), and is being implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit(GIZ).The TVET Sector Support Programme arranged a media visit to the Balochistan Women Business Association (BWBA), Quetta.The institute is playing its role in empowering women entrepreneurs in setting up their businesses and starting work in the formalsector in recent times. TVET Sector Support Programme engages by implementing partners to draw agreements with enterprisesfor labour demand, input in curriculum, provision of on-the-job training placements, and also assessment of trainees as per NVQFstandards. So far, the programme has supported more than 1,300 such agreements across Pakistan.The media delegation visited an Institute Partner Organization of the IDO - Balochistan Marble Pvt. Limited from where goodfeedback is received. While speaking to the on-job trainees, a batch of 20 young boys shared with media representatives that theirexperience has been excellent at the workplace-based learning site.
