DISTINGUISHED ARTIST FACULTYShenandoah Conservatory’s dynamic faculty members are active and highly networked within theartist community. They perform roles at the Metropolitan Opera, conduct Grammy Award-winningchoirs, compose music and serve on international competition juries. Chávez and many others. Adedicated collegiate music educator, Stimpertteaches clarinet, single reed methods andaural training as an assistant professor ofmusic at the University of Central Missouri.Annie Wong ’17, D.M.A. is currently on facultyat the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto,Canada and is a member of the RCM Collegeof Examiners. MUSIC EDUCATIONMaster of MusicEducationMusic education has been a cornerstone of ShenandoahConservatory’s 140-year legacy, providing musicians fromthe Commonwealth of Virginia and beyond with accessto exceptional training and professional development.The summers-only schedule allows the practicing musiceducator to pursue a graduate degree during the summermonths (mid-June to mid-July).Students study assessment strategies and reflect onprofessional classroom practices, as well as innovativecurricular and contemporary issues in music education.
