R Introduction i Introduction Using correct and up-to-date technical data and specifications when servicing Jaguar Vehicles is important to ensure a safe and trouble free operation. This booklet is produced to assist Jaguar Service Technicians in their task of providing first class repairs and service to Jaguar Vehicles, enabling them to achieve the high standard of workmanship customers expect from Jaguar Retailers. The date printed on the front cover is the issue date of the booklet. The booklet will be updated and reissued periodically to enable the inclusion of new and modified data. In between these updates we recommend that information issued in GTR, which supersedes the information issued here, should be entered by hand into this booklet. Please note this is a global publication and some of the data supplied will not be applicable to your market, therefore always ensure the data required is relevant to the specification of the vehicle concerned. R Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) 1 Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) Vehicle Identification Number It is essential that Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is quoted when ordering parts, and in all associated correspondence. XJ Up to 2003 MY: Dependent upon market, the VIN and other information are displayed on a label located either on the rear edge of the left-hand front door or on the body front-upper crossmember. The VIN stamping is located on the right-hand-side of the luggage compartment and a quick reference plate is visible through the left-hand lower corner of the windshield. Up to 2010 MY: The VIN and other information are displayed on a label located on the left-hand ‘A’ pillar (right-hand in China). The VIN stamping is located on the right-hand-side of the luggage compartment and a quick reference plate is visible through the left-hand lower corner of the windshield. 2010 MY onwards: The VIN and other information are displayed on a label located on the left-hand ‘A’ pillar (right-hand in China). The VIN stamping is located on the right-hand-side front suspension turret and a quick reference plate is visible through the left-hand lower corner of the windshield. XK Up to 2006.5 MY: The VIN and other information are displayed on a label located on the left-hand ‘B’ pillar above the door striker plate (right-hand in China). The VIN stamping is located on the right-hand-side of the luggage compartment and a quick reference plate is visible through the left-hand lower corner of the windshield. 2006.5 MY onwards: The VIN and other information are displayed on a label located on the left-hand ‘B’ pillar above the door striker plate (right-hand in China). The VIN stamping is located on the right-hand-front damper tower and a quick reference plate is visible through the left-hand lower corner of the windshield. Notes
