1. Master Lu-Tsu said: that which exists through itself is called The Way (Tao). Tao has neither name nor shape. it is the one essence (hsing] the one primal spirit. Essence and life cannot be seen. They are contained in the light of heaven. The light of heaven cannot be seen. It is contained in the two eyes. NOTES (IN RED) YOU CAN REPLACE THE WORD ’TAO’ WITH ’GOD’ AND IT WILL BE THE SAME. WHAT CHRISTIANS AND MOHAMMEDANS CALL GOD, TAOISTS CALL TAO, BUDDHISTS CALL IT DHARMA, JEWS USED TO CALL IT LOGOS, BUT THEY MEAN THE SAME THING. NO NAME CAN CONTAIN IT, OR, IT CAN BE EXPRESSED BY ANY NAME. The light of heaven cannot be seen. It is contained in the two eyes. YOU CAN SEE THE FORM, YOU CAN SEE THE BODY – THE BODY IS THE FORM, THE BODY SURROUNDS THE ESSENCE.– BUT YOU CANNOT SEE THE ESSENCE, THE FORMLESS. THE ESSENCE IS INVISIBLE TO THE EYES, UNAPPROACH-ABLE BY THE SENSES. 2. Today I will be your guide and will first reveal to you the secret of the Golden Flower of the Great One, and, starting from that, I will explain the rest in detail. 3. The Great One is the term given to that which has nothing above it. The secret of the elixir of life consists in using action to attain nonaction. One must not wish to leap over everything and penetrate directly. The doctrine I transmit directly brings up working with essence and does not fall into a secondary method. FIRST ACTION IS NEEDED TO BRING YIN AND YANG TOGETHER. WHEN MALE AND FEMALE MERGE WITHIN YOU - ONE’S THIRD EYE (AJNA) IS OPENED, AND ALL OPPOSITES ARE SEEN FOR WHAT THEY ARE BUT DO NOT AFFECT ONE. WHEN MALE AND FEMALE MERGE, ONE BECOMES PREGNANT WITHIN, JUST LIKE CONCEPTION OF A NEW BABY. THEN ONE BECOMES INACTIVE, JUST MEDITATING and easily going about ones business. AND ONE GREAT DAY YOU ARE REBORN, TWICE BORN. ! SAHASTRA! SAMADHI! ENLIGHTENMENT! THE GOLDEN FLOWER IS BEGINNING TO BLOOM! FOR THIS WE WILL PRACTICE THE TECHNIQE RECOMMENDED BY THE GOLDEN FLOWER –‘THE BACKWARD FLOWING MOVEMENT”. 4. The Golden Flower is the light. One uses the Golden Flower as a symbol. The phrase ‘the lead in the homeland of water has but one taste’ refers to it. THE GOLDEN FLOWER IS A TAOIST SYMBOL - LIKE SAHASTRA - THE THOUSAND PETALLED LOTUS IS A YOGIC SYMBOL. THE ‘LEAD’ IN THE HOMELAND WATER – IS A TAOIST SYMBOL OF THE ESSENCE. THE MIND OF TAO IS YANG AND IS REPRESENTED BY LEAD.
5. The work on the circulation of the light depends entirely on the method of reversal, the backward flowing movement, to concentrate one’s thoughts on the Heavenly Heart. The Heavenly Heart lies between sun and moon. WHEN YOU LOOKS AT A TREE YOUR EYES ARE THROWING YOUR INNER LIGHT OUT, ON THE TREE – THE LIGHT ENERGY IS CONSTANTLY MOVING OUTWARD. The book of the Yellow Castle says - “in the square inch field of the square foot house life can be regulated.’” In the middle of the square inch dwells the splendour. In the purple hall of the City of Jade dwells the God of Utmost Emptiness and Life. “THE SQUARE INCH FIELD” IS ONE’S THIRD EYE, DIRECTLY BETWEEN THE TWO PHYSICAL EYES. “THE SQUARE FOOT HOUSE” IS THE HUMAN FACE WHICH CONTAINS THE SQUARE INCH FIELD – THE THIRD EYE. “JADE” IS A TAOIST SYMBOL FOR PURITY OF THE ORIGINAL SPIRIT. IN THE TEMPLE WITHIN ONE’S OWN BODY IS ONE’S ESSENCE, FROM HERE LIFE CAN BE REGULATED. BOTH LIFE AND EMPTINESS EXIST HERE AS ONE, BETWEEN ALL THE OPPOSITES, JUST A WITNESS, JUST A MIRROR OF AWARENESS.
7. Therefore, when the light circulates, the energies of the whole body appear before its throne, as, when a holy king has established the capital and has laid down the fundamental rules of order, all the states approach with tribute, or as, when the master is quiet and calm, men-servants and maids obey his orders of their own accord, and each does his work. WHEN ONE TURNS THEIR LIGHT INWARD, INSTEAD OF LEAKING OUTWARD, THEN IT BEGINS TO CIRCULATE, THE ALCHEMY BEGINS TO HAPPEN – THE BODY AND SENSES BECOME OBEDIENT SERVANTS. ONE BEGINS TO SEE LIFES MYSTERIES CONTAINED WITHIN THE BODY. ONE BEGINS TO SEE THE MYSTERY OF CREATION, THE MYSTERY OF THE STARS AND PLANETS AND GALAXIES. ONE BEGINS TO SEE WHAT IS WITHOUT IS ALSO CONTAINED WITHIN. THIS IS A FUNDAMENTAL TAOIST THOUGHT. WHAT OCCURS IN THE SKY, SND OUTSIDE THE BODY, IN MACROCOSOM ALSO OCCURS WITHIN IN MICROCOSM. 8. Therefore, you only need to turn the Light around and it circulates: that is the deepest and most wonderful secret. 9. The light is easy to move, but difficult to fix. If it is made to circulate long enough, then it crystallizes itself. It is the condition of which it is said: ’silently thou fliest upward in the morning.’ TAOIST CAME TO REALISE THAT IT IS DIFFICULT TO FIX ONE’S ATTENTION, BUT MUCH EASIER TO CIRCULATE IT. YOGA TAKES THE DIFFICULT PATH OF TRYING TO FIX ONES’S ATTENTION, AND THIS IS NOT EASY.
10. In carrying out this fundamental principle you need to seek for no other methods but must only concentrate your thoughts on it. By collecting the thoughts one can fly and will be born in heaven. THIS IS THE GREAT SECRET ALCHEMY, OF IMMORTALITY. THESE ARE SECRETS WHEN PRACTICED, GREAT CHANGE CAN OCCUR WITHIN. IN THE SECRET OF THE GOLDEN FLOWER YOU HAVE THE PRECISE INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO TRANSFORM YOUR INNER CHEMISTRY, ARE YOU READY TO PRACTISE? ARE YOU READY TO GO FOR IT? 11. The Golden Flower is the Golden Pill (Elixir of life). Although it works very accurately, it is yet so fluid that it needs extreme intelligence and clarity, and the most complete absorption and tranquility. 12.
