Welcome to the ‘Pine Bush UFO Fair and Parade’ in the Town of Crawford! It’s my privilege to serve as Town Supervisor. On behalf of the entire Town Board, we’re very happy to serve as hosts of this fun, family-friendly event! It has been an exciting couple of years! The new Senior Community Center, (located next to the Town of Crawford Government Building) has provided a new, safe, one level, efficient building in which to conduct business and social meetings for our seniors. In addition, the space can be rented out for social occasions, and that income will help to support the costs of maintenance. Charles E. Carnes We listened to input from residents and business owners, and utilizing Supervisor that information compiled and developed a Community Development Town of Crawford Plan. You may have noticed the improvements and upgrades made to the ‘Crawford Commons’ shopping area and parking lot located behind the Village Center in Pine Bush. The enhancement project supports walking traffic and the shopping experience in the historic Main Street business district. Last year, grant funding helped us to secure the addition of new restroom facilities in the back of ‘Tessi Chessari Memorial Park’, off of Alice Court where local children play soccer and lacrosse, and the Town’s annual Relay for Life Event is hosted. In addition, brand new Pickleball Courts have been added as a feature at the Town Park on Red Mills Road. ‘TRAVIS’ – The True Story of Travis Walton sheds light on 1975 UFO Abduction One of the most significant UFO events in history— the 1975 UFO abduction of Travis Walton – comes to life in TRAVIS, a new documentary film, about one man’s five-day absence after a mysterious beam of light strikes him unconscious igniting an international firestorm of controversy. Meet the UFO speakers Linda Zimmermann 11 am -45 min plus 15 minutes Q & A. Linda Zimmermann is an author and paranormal researcher. While investigating UFOs in New York’s Hudson Valley, many people shared with her their UFO experiences. She decided to investigate and found that not only is the area abundant in ghost sightings but also in reports of UFOs. She has found so much material that she has written two books on UFOs in the Hudson Valley. Linda wasn’t always focused on the paranormal, she earned a B.S. in Chemistry and a Master’s in English. She is now the author of 30 books and a popular speaker. Her first book on Hudson Valley UFO sightings was made into an award winning documentary. Dr. Bill Wiand 12 pm - 45 min plus 15 minutes Q & A. Dr. Bill has been an ‘experiencer’ all his life and he lives with the UFO phenomenon every day. He grew up on the banks of the Hudson River in Peekskill and saw strange lights in the sky, on land and in the water. While living in Rockland County he witnessed more sightings. 10 When Bill moved to Walker Valley in 1985, he hadn’t heard about the long history of the area – but soon after became painfully aware when the local UFOs (United Friends Observer Society) support group was formed in 1993 by the late Max Lay and her daughter Dawn. Bill joined the group in 1994 and soon became part of the branch off group that supported those who felt they had experienced abductions and/or physical contact with aliens. The support group regularly draws people from the five counties here in NY as well as from neighboring states. Bill’s training and education led him to end up, not only the facilitator of the main group in 2000, but as a counselor & therapist to further assist those looking for assistance.
