Epson SureColor SC-P10000 (44" 8UP) Epson SureColor SC-P20000 (64" VLF) Starterkit for 3rd party media A Starterkit for 3rd party media on Epson SureColor-P10000/P20000 is available on the website: Starterkit Epson SureColor SC-P-10000/20000 (Epson print mode) ISO 12647-7:2016 This standard describes criteria and tolerances for proofs from digital data. The changes in the 2016 version include: DeltaE-2000 color difference value replaces DeltaE-76 with new tolerances ΔCh replaces H for CMY neutral scale New definition for permanence (lightfastness, fading) of proofing substrate and printed parts Spot colors have to be checked with the control strip if target values are available The new ISO 12647-7:2016 standard was published in November 2016 and replaces the previous standard ISO 12647-7:2013.

Proofing with GMG Proof Standards according to ISO 12647-7:2016 in ColorProof 5.9 All GMG Proof Standards will automatically be verified according to ISO 12647-7:2016 in ColorProof 5.9. The new verification rules are automatically applied and a new control strip for spot color verification GMG Spot Color Control Strip V2.0 has been added. We recommend all ColorProof users to update to version 5.9 in order to proof according to the current ISO standard. The new ISO standard is only available as of ColorProof 5.9 and not supported in previous versions. Switch back to ISO 12647-7:2013 ColorProof users who want to proof according to the old ISO 12647-7:2013 standard can deactivate the 2016 standard in the general settings. Announcement of ProofControl 2.3 ProofControl 2.3 will be released tomorrow, January 24. In ProofControl 2.3 control strips can be correctly validated, compliant to 12647-7:2016. You will be informed about the release in SupportNews 3/2017. Exchange Media ColorProof 5.9 is ready for the use of new GMG ProofMedia. Two dialog windows were implemented (see below). The functions of these two dialog windows ensure new media names to be appeared correctly on the proof label. The actions will not trigger any color profile change. We recommend to update the proofing media names only when the new media is used.

Dialog 1: Database Exchange media OK This option is used to change from old to new media Dialog 2: Output Printer Change media Use former Media name This option is used to change from new to old media.

Additional drivers for Epson SureColor series ColorProof 5.9 offers additional print modes for the creation of custom calibration sets. Starterkits can be found on the support home page. Additional Proof Standards for Epson SureColor and Stylus Pro printers GamutViewer in manual jobs All color related files of a ColorProof Job can be directly opened out of the manual job view. In this way, it can be checked whether the used spot colors are within the available printer gamut, and whether a spot color can be optimally simulated.

Note: Please activate this option in ColorProof System GamutViewer GamutViewer Connection insert the installation path, e.g. C:\Program Files e Edit ProofControl Standard On the proof verification tab of a ColorProof Proof Standard, a new functionality to edit ProofControl Standards is available. This button will display the same configuration window as in ProofControl, in which custom print standards can be edited, e.g. set the parameters for inline verification. New Job Ticket features In ColorProof 5.9 XML Job Tickets it is possible to: define different spot color gradations for each job and spot color channel within the same spot color database define a Channel Mapping Rule Set

Improved Smart Hotfolder usability You can migrate several hotfolder/workflow combinations into a Smart Hotfolder Rule Set. You can manage spot color sets and priority in the Smart Hotfolder rule set. ProofControl Inline labels with HP Z3200 ColorProof 5.9 supports ProofControl Inline labels for HP Z3200 on 24” media, in addition to alreadysupported 44” media.

Support of the Konica Minolta Auto Scan Spectrophotometer FD-9 ColorProof 5.9 supports the Konica Minolta Auto Scan Spectrophotometer FD-9. The driver for this measurement device has been implemented in this 5.9 version. In the next ColorProof versions the support will be extended to calibration sets, so that this measurement device can be used in the calibration process. You will receive further information in the next Support Newsletter. The new measurement device will be supported in ProfileEditor for the creation of profiles as soon as the FD-9 measurement device is supported in the calibration sets. This is the prerequisite, as profiling is based on the gamut file enclosed in the calibration set. Resolved issues The following technical issues have been resolved in ColorProof 5.9. Please note that the list describes the original problem, not the solution. ColorProof media wedge - software is printing without profile In MXN based jobs, using multiple channels plus CMYK, the created media wedge was printed wrongly [68688] ColorProof - grayed out web client settings The web client settings were grayed out after the administration password was changed [68902] ColorProof - Imposition proofer without license When ColorProof was connected to a dongle with imposition proofer license (e.g. dongle of the dealer for installation and configuration), the imposition proofer remained visible in ColorProof, even after switching to a dongle without license for the imposition proofer (e.g. switch to user dongle). [69243, 69460, 69508] Canon imagePROGRAF iPF6450 – wrong color for check mark The printed label marks on the proofer showed the wrong color [69600] ColorProof WebClient A job, using a MXN profile, was not visible in the WebClient of ColorProof [65187, 66847] ColorProof - processing multicolor ICC profiles After printing a job, using a multicolor ICC profile, the added control strip was not processed [67347] ColorProof MXD based proof standard Jobs with used MXD profile was not processed accordingly [66097] Smart hot folders - cleanup after file processing The hot folder cleanup after the file processing was not working properly [68496] ColorProof job nesting templates Job was not rotated, even with selected job nesting template [67810]

ColorProof 1bit creator Wrong ripping settings for selected spot colors ColorProof ripping process Improvements in the ripping process. Files will now process faster [54809] ColorProof workflows Overprinting errors has occurred in ColorProof workflows with "preserved overprint Black" [58532] ColorProof 1bit creator Manual 1bit jobs showed a wrong preview [62692] End of Life Please note that we will no longer provide bug fixes, maintenance releases, workarounds, or patches for bugs found in ColorProof 5.8 or older. End of Service Life ColorProof 5.5 We hereby announce the End of Service Life (EOSL) for GMG ColorProof 5.5. The EOSL means that, effective immediately, support calls via the service hotline, email or the trouble ticket system will no longer be accepted and all support has been discontinued for the above product and version.
