Here are some tips and features to consider: 1 Adjust and Transport Your Rotary Table for Your Application Customizing your rotary table for each application and specific measurement task can improve your overall measurement plan. The rotary table on the ZEISS O-INSPECT is transportable. That means it can be moved or directed to the ideal location for your application. Pick an orientation that works best for your measurement plan. 2 Use Optical Rotary Table to Capture the 3rd Dimension The camera is limited when it comes to 3D measurements. However, when you pair it with a rotary table, you can extract the tough 3rd dimension. For example, in the inspection to the left, four 2D lines were optically extracted at different rotations. This data was then recalled into a theoretical cylinder to analyze the part’s cylindricity. This kind of 3D analysis would be impossible without the rotary table. 2

3 Identify Patterns with the Rotary Table When creating a rotational pattern, you can activate the “Rotate Rotary table as well” feature. 6 Make Rotary Table Positions a Part of Your Measurement Plan A feature in your measurement plan in CALYPSO can include the rotary table steps or positions. This allows you to reset or change the rotary table’s position in the middle of a features strategy. This isn’t a necessary part of the plan, but it can be useful for unique applications. 7 Utilize Rotary Table Clearance Planes When a rotary table is active in a program, you can use the rotary table clearance planes (RTCP) for your measurement plan. The benefit of this is that the RTCP won’t rotate with the part. The camera’s only approach is from above ( Z), so the camera can only use the RTCP Z for measurement. 8 Enable Software to Account for Drift Correction In some cases, users will utilize the rotary table as a fixture, with no other holding device included. ZEISS CALYPSO measurement software has an easy check box to select when the table is only a depositing area. CALYPSO then activates the drift correction, which makes it possible to correct measurement errors automatically caused by a slightly tilted rotary table. 4
