FEATURES ROOF PANELS 40-Series roof panels incorporate a 3’’ tall rib with over-and-under lap profiles ensuring a precise fit (see illustration). 3-bend rib profiles are also incorporated in the new design for increased strength to stand up even in the harshest environments. HIGHER CAPACITY AND SUPERIOR PROTECTION Each GSI bin is efficiently designed to handle maximum loads for unmatched strength. All GSI bins are constructed using the highest-strength steel available. Sidewall sheets are made from high-tensile steel that is rated up to 70,000 psi (450 MPa) minimum. A commercial G-90, galvanized steel coating increases life and durability. STIFFENERS GSI’s stiffener profiles and the use of up to 2-gauge material make bins stronger, allowing 40-Series bins to go taller without the extensive use of lamination. GSI's stiffeners are manufactured on precision roll-forming equipment for superior quality. Base stiffener boots are powder-coated so they won’t rust over time. 4
FEATURES WIND RING Redesigned wind ring and wind ring brackets reduce bolt holes in stiffeners, resulting in increased load capacity. Swaged, bolted splice ensure 40-Series bins will endure the toughest wind conditions. JS500 BOLTS GSI uses JS500 bolts paired with sealing washers to protect the grain. JJS500 coated hardware provides added protection from rust, promoting longer bin life. BIN ROOF 40-SERIES GRAIN BINS Z-TEK ROOF SYSTEM GSI’s 40-Series grain bins feature the precisionengineered Z-Tek Roof System. Designed for increased load capacity and larger fill equipment, the system incorporates z-shaped rafters and purlins, clips, peak ring, flat top and roof panel for unsurpassed strength and protection. Designed to handle extreme loads, the Z-Tek Roof System has been tested with loads over 112 tons. GSI EXCLUSIVE ROOF EXHAUSTER MOUNTING LOCATION Moving air in and out of the bin efficiently is essential. GSI bins feature roof exhauster mounting plates near the peak for improved airflow by providing optimal separation of the intake vents and the exhausters. This allows for headspace air to be completely turned over and minimizes condensation on the bottom of the roof panels in colder climates. 6 EXHAUSTER INTAKE VENT 40-SERIES BINS OTHER BINS
BIN ROOF FLAT TOP High volumes of grain need to be moved quickly and efficiently. That means material handling equipment is also getting bigger, which makes a bigger flat top necessary to support heavier equipment. Integrated attachment points within the flat top eliminate guesswork on where to attach material handling equipment for more accurate assembly. An optional integrated peak walk-around is available on bins larger than 54' diameter. ACCESSORY MOUNTING RING The accessory mounting ring gives builders a 360-degree surface to attach external equipment, allowing material handling equipment to enter at any point and simplifying the process. Available only on Z-Tek Roof Systems for all bins 54' and larger. An I-Beam option is also available. PURLINS All purlins are designed as compression purlins for even distribution of the roof load. The Z-Tek Roof System delivers an increase in peak and snow load capacities as well as a simplified design for fast installation. GSI purlins are manufactured using the latest roll-form technology to ensure the most accurate fit possible. ROOF SHEET OVERLAP GSI’s in-plane roof lap is designed to stop leaking by eliminating the flashing that was previously required between the upper and lower panels. TEMPERATURE CABLE BRACKETS GSI’s Z-Tek Roof System includes standard temperature cable attachment brackets for 54' and larger bins, eliminating the need for additional parts. BIN FLOORS GSI offers a range of designs to meet a variety of grain type or aeration requirements. All floor parts are galvanized for lasting durability and feature a unique locking system that reduces floor movement and supports extreme load conditions. DURA-LOK FLOORING Easy to sweep and clean, the Dura-Lok floor is the strongest available and ideal for tall bins. Supported by our monorail post-and-beam system, the Dura-Lok floor system features 3.5" wide sections for a stronger, more stable floor. Perforation Options Standard (0.094") or small grain (0.050"). Floor-Support Options Commercial-grade monorail support system. Availability Full floors available in bins up to 105' diameter. FLUSH FLOORS Custom designed to fit the bin, flush floor options are available up to 40 rings with in-concrete patterns that include quad F and double H patterns. Designs are available from two to six fans to meet a wide range of aeration needs. Availability Flush floors now available in all 40-Series bins. 8
AERATION & CONDITIONING SYSTEMS Maintaining consistent grain quality is essential to long-term profitability and viability. GSI manufactures a complete line of aeration and grain-conditioning systems to help maintain grain quality in any operation. Having the right size of fan and drying system for your operation is key. Too much airflow can be as bad – sometimes even worse – than too little. UNLOAD SYSTEMS X-SERIES SWEEP 40-SERIES GRAIN BINS THE TRUE ZERO-ENTRY BIN SWEEP The zero-entry X-Series Sweep incorporates our industry-leading positive drive system and the most intelligent sweep control on the market today to provide the highest performance of any zero-entry sweep. Additional safety switches are easily added to the X-Series control to prevent employees from entering the bin during the operation of the sweep. The sweep auger will remain engaged even during avalanche situations where the drive motor reverses direction to maximize capacity and minimize the reverse travel. Two auger sizes available: 12" Model (capacity from 3,000–7,000 BPH) - 16" Model – (capacity from 8,000–10,000 BPH) COMMERCIAL CARRY-IN SWEEPS Our removable bin sweep gives you the versatility to easily move the entire unit from one bin to another. Torque tube and back shield adjust for close-floor clearance for maximum clean-out. Bins 30' or larger include an intermediate bearing to help stabilize the sweep flight. Commercial unloads are available in 8", 10" and 12" sizes for bins ranging from 24' to 72' diameter. This heavy-duty equipment is recommended in smaller bins with high use applications. 10
UNLOAD SYSTEMS LEAVE-IN SWEEPS Features include premium Thick-Edge flighting and motorized tractor drive & SureGrip wheel, ensuring reliable power and traction. Other features include a skeletonized frame, singleadjustment carrier wheels, powder-coat finish and choice of standard or auto-drive control panels. Exclusive UL listed collector ring allows power through to the sweep motor and prevents cables from twisting as the sweep rotates. Retrofit compatible and available in 10" and 12" models. Designed for 30'-105' bins, with capacities up to 6,500 BPH. PADDLE SWEEPS Designed for high capacity systems, GSI’s Commercial Paddle Sweeps use flexible rubber paddles to unload gently and safely. Heavy-Duty High Capacity Paddle Sweep For larger capacity grain systems, GSI’s Heavy-Duty Paddle Sweep uses flexible rubber paddles to gently and safely unload up to 12,000 bushels per hour in 72' to 105' diameter bins. Commercial Paddle Sweep Designed for high capacity systems, GSI’s Commercial Paddle Sweep uses flexible rubber paddles to gently and safely unload up to 6,000 bushels per hour in 15' to 105' diameter bins. U-TROUGH COMMERCIAL SWEEP TRACTOR A 10” U-Trough comes standard with an integrated power sweep and moves 5,000 BPH. A U-Trough fits under a standard 12” floor as well as most other aeration floors. Available in all bins up to 66' diameter. For facilities with older model sweeps, a commercial sweep tractor and control panel feature can make sweeping fully automated and more efficient. BIN ACCESSIBILIT Y 40-SERIES GRAIN BINS GSI GRAIN BIN STAIRS GSI’s stairs, roof stairs and platforms are strong, comfortable and easy to climb, allowing you to get to the top quickly and safely. SIDEWALL STAIRS 2-piece step design - the strength of two steps in one. Step height designed for comfortable rise/step combination. Pre-rolled, 1.5" round tube, smooth handrails. Optional inside handrail for increased safety and ease of climbing. Stairs can be wrapped clockwise or counterclockwise. PLATFORMS Three options for platform placement with single or double platform options. ROOF STAIRS Roof stairs allow for a safe and easy transition from platform to roof. High – located above the eave. Comes in three sections to cover all roof combinations (3-step section, 4-step section, 8-step section) Low – located below the eave. High/Low – combines a low platform in front of manway hole and a high platform to step onto roof (available on bins 60' and smaller - 3 panel roofs only). Designed to clear potential interference with roof rings and other objects. X-SERIES LADDERS WALK-THROUGH BIN DOORS VEHICLE TRAFFIC DOOR X-Series Ladders are mounted 90 degrees to the sidewall to eliminate toe hazards such as stiffeners, wind rings and other bracketry. Ladders also feature step-through platforms with swing-through gates. Safety is important to your business, so we designed the X-Series line of ladders to meet OSHA specifications. Available on all GSI bins. Inner door panels on GSI’s walk-through door opens completely. There are no bars or braces to unbolt or remove. The specially designed lever latch multiplies the inner door opening force by 20 times, so opening is quick and easy. No wrenches or tools are required to operate. An optional vehicle traffic door is available when a larger opening is required or where a skid-steer loader will be used for final cleanout. The door is designed so that everything is accomplished from the outside of the bin. With no center posts to remove, it is easy for one person to open the door. Available on 72'–156' bins. EAVE AND MID-ROOF WALK-AROUNDS The eave walk-around is mounted to the sidewall with a seamless walk path when access to the manhole is required. The mid-roof walk-around goes directly underneath the roof exhausters, which allows for easy access and servicing. Available in 72'–156' bins, eave and mid-roof walk-arounds fully integrate with other X-Series components such as ladders and stairs. 12
AGRIDRY GRAVIT Y SPREADERS UNIFORM DISTRIBUTION OF FINES AgriDry Gravity Spreaders distribute fines of grain without compromising quality. It’s gentle on grain and tough enough to handle fill rates up to 40,000 BPH. Uniformly distributed fines eliminate the time and expense of coring and create a better environment for storage. Improve fan efficiency, increase storage time, and gain marketing flexibility. HIGH VOLUME APPLICATION AgriDry commercial spreaders have 16 chutes to meet the needs of high volume and variable fill rates coming from a dryer.
