SHOGUNFINANCIALSERVICESFAIR WEARAND TEARFair wear and tear occurs when normal use causesacceptable deterioration to the vehicle’s condition at theend of a contract or finance agreement, the age, mileageand use of the vehicle are taken into account.LASTPAGEFair wear and tear is not to be confused with damage,which occurs as a result of a specific event or series ofevents. These include impact, inappropriate stowingof items, harsh treatment, negligent acts or failure toservice the vehicle in accordance with the manufacturer’srecommendations and any applicable warranty.NEXTPAGE

SHOGUNFINANCIALSERVICESEND OFCONTRACTCHARGESLASTPAGEEnd of contract charges occur when the vehicle, itsequipment or accessories are not maintained, lookedafter, or used as originally agreed at the start of thecontract.You may prefer to arrange your own repairs prior to uscollecting your vehicle, which some customers find moreeconomical. Any repairs made to the vehicle before it isreturned must meet this good condition guide. You willbe responsible for the standard of the repairs.NEXTPAGE

SHOGUNFINANCIALSERVICESRETURNINGYOUR VEHICLEYour vehicle will be assessed for any damage overand above normal wear and tear by a qualifiedinspector on return.LASTPAGEWe will notify you of any areas of damage thatfall outside of the fair wear and tear standards andprovide you with a costed inspection report.Any excess mileage and damage charges need tobe paid within 30 days of notification.NEXTPAGE

SHOGUNLASTPAGEWINDSCREENAND WINDOWSDOORMIRRORSLight scratching provided it does not interferewith the driver’s line of sight is acceptable.Minor scuff marks or scratches up to25mm to door mirrors are acceptable.All heating elements should work properly.If adjustable and/or heated door mirrors,they must work correctly.Chips and any critical damage - cracks orholes should be repaired immediately.Missing, cracked or damaged door mirrorsare not acceptable and should be replaced.BACK TO WEAR AND TEARFINANCIALSERVICESNEXTPAGE

SHOGUNLASTPAGELAMPSAND LENSESTYRE WEARAND DAMAGEAll lamps and lenses must work. Minor scuffmarks or scratches up to 25mm are acceptable.The spare wheel (including ‘spacesaver’), jack and other toolsmust be intact, stowed properly and in good working order.The emergency tyre inflation kit, if supplied when new, shouldbe in full working order, serviceable and ready for use.Holes or cracks in the glass or plastic covers oflamp units are not acceptable and these shouldbe replaced.All tyres including the spare must be within legal limits. Theminimum legal tread depth for a car tyre is 1.6mm, this depthmust be maintained across the central ¾ of the breadth ofthe tread in a continuous band across the full circumferenceof the tyre.Damage to sidewalls or tread and uneven wear due to underor over-inflation is not acceptable.BACK TO WEAR AND TEARFINANCIALSERVICESNEXTPAGE

SHOGUNFINANCIALSERVICESVEHICLEAPPRAISAL TIPSLASTPAGEWe recommend carrying out an appraisal of thevehicle 10-12 weeks before the vehicle is due forreturn. This will allow you to arrange to have anyunacceptable wear and tear rectified. Wash and dry the vehicle before self appraisalas water and dirt can mask damage. Make sure you assess the vehicle in good light.Assessments carried out in poor light maymean you miss something. Be objective and assess the vehicle as honestlyas you can.NEXTPAGE
