1 Getting startedFiat Fiorino/Qubo AVN is optimised for in-car use. You can use it easily by tapping thescreen buttons and the map with your fingertips.When you start using the product, you can download new maps in the next 1 year.1.1 Screen controlsThe following sections describe the functionality and use of buttons, sliders, and other screencontrols in Fiat Fiorino/Qubo AVN.1.1.1 Using the buttons and other controlsTo operate Fiat Fiorino/Qubo AVN, tap the buttons on the touch screen.TypeExampleDescriptionFunctionButtonOpens a new screenwhere you can set aparameter.Tap it once.ButtonwithvalueDisplays the currentvalue of a field or settingwhere the value can bechanged. After thechange, the new value isshown on the button.Tap it once.ListShows multiple options.Grab the list anywhereand slide your finger upor down. Depending onthe speed of sliding, thelist scrolls fast or slow,only a bit or till the end.SwitchShows whether a featureis enabled when thereare only two choices.Tap it to turn the switchon or off.5

When a feature can beset to different values ina range, Fiat Fiorino/Qubo AVN shows anindicator on a gaugethat displays and setsthe value.SliderVirtualkeyboardUsed to enter text andnumbers.Drag the handle tomove the slider to itsnew position.Tap the slider whereyou want the handle toappear.Each key is a touchscreen button.The Navigation menu may contain several menu items on one or more pages.You need to confirm selections or changes only if the application needs to be restarted, if itneeds to perform a major reconfiguration, or if you are about to lose some of your data orsettings. Otherwise, Fiat Fiorino/Qubo AVN saves your selections and applies the new settingswithout confirmation as soon as you use the controls.1.1.2 Using the cursorYou can select a map location in the following ways: By tapping the map when navigating By tapping the map when you are asked to confirm the destination at the end of asearch.When a map location is selected, the cursor) appears at the selected point on the map.The location of the cursor can be used as the destination of the route or a new Alert Point. Youcan also search for Places around it or add this location to your saved locations.You can also select some of the objects on the map. If you tap the map at the icon of a Placeor traffic event, the object is selected, and you can get information about this object or use it asa route point.6

1.1.3 Using the keyboardYou can type with your fingertips on the screen keyboards and you can switch between variouskeyboard layouts, for example English, Greek or numerical. Only those keyboard buttons areactive that can be used to type a name that is available on the map. The other keys are greyedout.ActionSwitching to anotherkeyboard layout, forexample from an Englishkeyboard to a GreekkeyboardFunctionTapand select the new keyboard layout from the list.Tapto remove the unnecessary character(s).Correcting your entry on thekeyboardTap and hold the button to delete several characters or theentire input string.Entering a space, forexample between a firstname and a family name orin multi-word street namesTap thescreen.Entering upper and lowercase lettersBy default, when entering a text, the first character appears inupper case while the rest of the text is in lower case. Tapbutton at the bottom centre of theto enter an upper case letter or tap it twice to turn onCaps Lock. Tap again to use lower case letters.Entering numbers andsymbolsTapto switch to a keyboard offering numbers andsymbols.Finalising the keyboardentryTap.Tap.Hiding the keyboard1.1.4 Using touch gesturesYou usually need to tap the screen only once. However, some useful features can beaccessed with other gestures. See the table below.7

To scroll a list: grab the list anywhere and slide your finger up ordown. Depending on the speed of the sliding, the list scrolls fasteror slower, only a bit or till the end. To move the map in map browsing mode: grab the map, and moveit in the desired direction.Use pinch zoom on the Navigation view to zoom in and out by moving twofingers in a pinch gesture.1.1.5 Manipulating the mapIf you tap the map anywhere during navigation, the map stops following the current position(the blue arrow is not locked in a fix position on the screen anymore) and control buttons appearto help you modify the map view.8

It always displays streetnames and other text with the same font size, neverupside-down, and you only see the streets andobjects that you need.Map scaling has a limit in 3D map view mode. If youzoom out further, the map switches to 2D view mode.Tap once to modify the view in a large step, or tap andhold the button to modify it continuously and smoothly.Tilting up anddownChange the vertical view angle of the map in 3Dmode.,Tap once to modify the view in a large step, or tap andhold the button to modify it continuously and smoothly.Rotating leftand rightChanges the horizontal view angle of the map.Tap once to modify the view in a large step, or tap andhold the button to modify it continuously and smoothly.,Changing 2D,3D, or 2DNorth up viewsChecking thecompass,,Switch between the 3D perspective, 2D Heading up,and 2D North up map view modes. In Heading upmode the map is rotated so its top always points in thecurrent driving direction. This is the default orientationin 3D map view mode. In North up mode, the mapfaces North.The direction of the compass shows North.9

SelectingadditionaloptionsOpen a list of additional features like saving alocation, or searching for Places around the cursor.Selecting adestinationSelect the cursor location as a new destination. Theroute is automatically calculated.1.2 Navigation viewThe navigation view is the main screen of Fiat Fiorino/Qubo AVN that shows the planned routeon a map. Fiat Fiorino/Qubo AVN works with digital maps which are not simply thecomputerised versions of traditional paper maps. Similarly to paper road maps, the 2D modeof digital maps shows you streets and roads. Elevation is also illustrated in colour.The navigation view displays the following screen buttons, data fields, and route information onthe map during navigation:10
