HOME LEARNING ACTIVITIES FOR TODDLERSMondayBottle Cap SailboatMaterials Required: Lids in different colours and sizesCraft stickPlastic/Foam Sheets for sailsPlay Doh/Modelling clayWhite glueScissorsInstructions:1.2.3.4.5.6.7.Cut a sail from the plastic sheet.Glue the sail to a craft stick.Insert the stick into a small mound of clay.Place the clay in the boat and the boat is ready to sail!Spread towels or a drop cloth on the table and/or floor.Fill a plastic bin with water and invite your child to launch the bottle cap sail boats.During play you can ask them the following questions:o Does your boat sink or float?o Add small figures to the boats for passengers and then ask, “Do the boats still float?Are they wobbling?”o Which boat is the biggest?8. Add a bit of colour to the water with food colouring.9. Kids will love the hands-on fun, experimenting and discovering, while enjoying somesplashing around in the process!

Just say “All Aboard!” and watch them explore.

Fill the Ice tray with water and then empty the water from the tray into a bowl. This willhelp you have the right amount of water for the tray.2. Whisk the flour into the water so that the ice has a less watery consistency.3. Now split the water into 4 smaller cups, add food colouring and mix it well.4. Pour it back into the ice cubes, four cubes per colour and leave it in the refrigerator.5. You can insert the popsicle sticks into the tray once the ice is partially set and leave it backin.6. Twist the ice tray to loosen the ice blocks and make it easier to remove them for painting.7. Take the colour ice out of the freezer 5 mins before the activity so that it can melt a bitbefore use8. Stick a chart on the table or play area using paper tape9. Invite your child to explore. Let the fun begin!10. Sit back and see what your little ones come up with, round and around testing the colorice and how it makes markings.
