Graphic Designer1 POSITION OBJECTIVES To create, manage and produce communications and marketing materials for a range of activitiesconducted across Mount Alexander Shire CouncilTo support the management of the visual image and branding of Mount Alexander Shire Council toensure the Council’s image is professional, creative and consistentTo be responsible for the production of a range of printed and online material that reflectsCouncil’s vision of being innovative, creative and connected2 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES2.1Graphic Design services 2.2Deliver a range of accessible materials including: publications promotional and publicity materials newsletters and flyers templates fact sheets social media materials posters and event collateral digital assets / electronic communicationAnnual Report and other publications 2.3Design the Mount Alexander Shire Council Annual ReportPrepare report for printing and web publicationSource appropriate photographyDesign other Council publications and campaign assetsCorporate style guide and branding 2.4Review and refresh the Corporate Style GuideEnsure Council produced material complies with the Style GuideEnsure Council publications meet accessibility guidelinesDevelop, implement and maintain the organisation’s corporate identityImage library Update and manage the corporate image libraryIdentify gaps in the image libraryEnsure appropriate use of images, in line with copyright requirements and licence agreements

Every staff member is required toactively participate in the review process with his or her immediate supervisor.14 REVIEW OF POSITION DESCRIPTIONThe supervisor and incumbent will review this Position Description for any necessary amendments duringthe annual Performance Development Review process.15 GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES OF EVERY MOUNTALEXANDER SHIRE COUNCIL EMPLOYEEEvery employee of Mount Alexander Shire Council is bound to adhere to legislation, regulations, and codesof conduct. All employees may be required to contribute toemergency management planning and activities as they arise and in an emergency you may be directed byyour manager to participate in duties not normally assigned to you.15.6 Workplace Code of ConductThe Workplace Code of Conduct applies to all employees and contractors of the Mount Alexander ShireCouncil. All staff must: adhere to the Workplace Code of Conduct at all timesfamiliarise themselves with the Code to ensure compliance with its principles.

Graphic Designer15.7 PrivacyMount Alexander Shire Council is committed to complying with the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014and the Health Records Act 2001. All employees are required to: adhere to the Privacy and Data Protection Act and the Health Records Actat all times ensure that the personal information collected and held by the Council is protectedfrom misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosureensure that personal information is appropriately stored and managedcollect information only directly relating to the services being provided to clientsnot disclose personal information to any person or organisation without written consent or unlessprescribed by a lawful instruction.15.8 Records managementMount Alexander Shire Council employees, as public officers under the Public Records Act 1973, haveresponsibilities for ensuring that records created and received are captured, managed, stored, anddestroyed in accordance with Public Records Office of Victoria standards and policies and proceduresadopted by the Council.Managers have an additional responsibility to ensure that departmental Council staff understand andcomply with the requirements of the Public Records Act 1973 and Council records management policiesand procedures.15.9 ConfidentialityAll employees of Mount Alexander Shire Council have a duty: to serve the Council with loyalty and in good faithnot to disclose or use any information obtained in the course of employment for any purpose otherthan carrying out duties of employmentnot to source Council information, or information relating to Council’s ratepayers and clients, forany purpose other than carrying out duties of employment15.10 ComplianceMount Alexander Shire Council is committed to organisational-wide compliance with legislation, policy andprocedures.
