Participationfrom all programs is greatly appreciated in order tomake these events a great success!!If you have any suggestions for future volunteerevents, any questions, or would like an applicationto apply for the next selection of StudentAmbassadors; please contact Vanessa - Pharmacy4 P a g eDo you project a professional image?Professionalism in the workplace is based on manyfactors, including how you dress, how you carryyourself, your attitude, and how you interact withothers. Some characteristics put you at risk of making anegative impression, and this can hurt your career. Here are 5 key characteristics to watch for, andways to change them.1. Negative attitude: Dressing or behaving badly, and thinking that no one will notice, is a sure signthat people will notice - and think badly of you.Your attitude colors everything you do. Payattention to how you dress, and how you treatother people. It does make a difference.2. Unprofessional body language: Here are twothings we see often in public, that create a poorimpression. The first one is yawing with your4151 Executive Parkway, Suite 120, Westerville, OH 43081

mouth wide open. Showing the world your molarsisn't professional. Cover your mouth.Like and share the LRC Facebook page Columbus/161285080590976?ref hl3. More unprofessional body language: Chewinggum advertises you as unprofessional. It'sdistracting to see someone chomping away at apiece of gum while they are talking to a client, or ina meeting. If you chew gum while driving to anappointment, get rid of it before your meeting.4. Excessive fragrance: Too much perfume oraftershave lotion is distracting, and can aggravateallergies in some people. Be clean and fresh, butkeep your fragrance to a minimum. People shouldnot smell your fragrance unless they are huggingyou. If they smell you across the room, you'veoverdone it.5. Unkempt fingernails: Women with inch-longfingernails, as well as unusual colors of polish, arenot taken seriously. Anyone with ragged, orunkempt nails makes a poor impression as well.Did you know that people notice hands right afterthey notice faces? Keep your nails trimmed andclean. For women, a clear polish or Frenchmanicure looks classy and professional.Achievements:For the ABHES accrediting year of 2011/2012Career Services achieved an 86% overall placementrate! This is a huge success for the college andMarlene and Rachel are very proud of the workthat is going on in the Career Services Department!SUMMER 2012 COMMENCEMENTUp Coming Events:Career Services is hosting a Career Fair!
