“climbing great hills”“After climbing a great hill, one only finds that there are many more hills to climb.”The above statement iscredited to Nelson Mandelabut I wish I were the onewho had said it first becauseit is so true about the historyof CRC. CRC has continuedto climb great hills for all ofits 53-year history as it hasrecognized that there aremany more hills to climb. I amKen Hoppeconvinced that understandingPresidentthis concept keeps us focusedin the right direction and challenges our strength anddetermination.It is always an exciting timefor me as our staff develops thecontent that is to be included ineach Insider. There is only so muchinformation that we can providefor you in these 12 pages andsometimes it becomes difficult toshare with you everything that wewant you to know.You will see alot of information contained in thisInsider but I would specifically liketo talk with you about the financialsupport that CRC has receive fromits friends recently.On March 4, 2017, a specialceremony was held on the CRC Campus as wededicated the new Charles R. and Wilma King HonorReachingYourD reamsSCHOLARSHIP FUNDRAISERfeaturingHousing facility. This 3,548 square foot structureaccommodates 14 students in an apartment styledwelling. Tom and Cari King, Pocahontas, Arkansas,honored Tom’s parents in the naming of this structureby providing considerable financial support towardthe construction of the building. We were blessedwith perfect weather for our dedication ceremony asCRC Trustees and Administrators joined Tom and CariKing and their friends and family for this historic dayin CRC’s history. Tom and Cari are wonderful friendsof CRC. Having on-campus housing available for 14additional students means so much as CRC movesforward, and stays focused on its mission. Cecilia is from Sao Paulo, Brazil and made her way toCRC in connection with a local Paragould family with whom she was living.After attending CRC, she attended Oklahoma Christian University from 1983 1986 and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. In 1991, she came in contactwith the ARBONNE Company, a beauty products company who markets productsby a network of independent consultants. After 6 years with ARBONNE, shebecame an Executive National VP and has now had that distinction for 26 years.Cecilia is very successful Christian, a national top producer for Arbonne, andhas spoken to large audiences about Goal Setting and How to be Successful inbusiness. We are so thankful that she is willing to come back to CRC and deliverour commencement address on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 11:00 am in the CarterActivities Center on CRC’s Campus.Page 3

CRC’s Current Funding Needs ListTHESE ARE PRIORITY NEEDS FOR WHICH CRC IS SEEKING IMMEDIATE FUNDING 3,000,000 – Construction cost for 100 to 120 bed female dormitory. 714,000 – To pay the current unfunded portion of Scholarships awarded to CRC students this year. We are thankful toreceive about 126,000 annually in Scholarship donations. These scholarship gifts are a tremendous blessing to our studentsand are awarded for Bible majors, academic achievements, music, drama, athletics and for a variety of specialized areas/needs.This year students will be given approximately 840,000 in Scholarship awards making their cost of attending College moreaffordable. 350,000 – Construction cost for 3,740 square feet educational facility with classrooms, offices, restrooms & storage. 295,000 – 3rd Honor Housing apartment complex, 14 beds for junior/senior year or married students. 200,000 – Adding concrete around CRC’s campus – 1.) Five parking areas in front of cafeteria. 2.) Main campus roadfrom Cafeteria to Johnson Honor Housing to Tennis Courts to Winters Hall. 3.) Road from Maintenance Shop and RV Parkto the Collegiate Baseball/Softball Complex. Total estimated cost of more than 200,000 at 2.38 per square foot. 187,308 – Total cost of Wilson Hall Interior Renovation of the dorm rooms, bathrooms, hallways, ceiling tiles/fixturesand stairway fixtures for both women/men’s wings. 125,000 – Landscape interior of pond, including brick or block next to water and Mary House Project with Bell Towerrenovation with park area also near or connecting to pond. 100,000 – 120 ft x 25 ft addition to Carter Activities Center to house additional Physical Education classrooms,restrooms, offices, and work out area. 100,000 – Infrastructure Replacements; replacing 6-inch main waterlines and fire hydrants. 1st stage from PhysicalSciences Building to Jennie Sue Eubanks Cafeteria is approximately 900 ft @ estimated cost of 35,000. At least two more6-inch main waterline sections will need to be replaced following this 1st Infrastructure Replacement Phase. 87,000 – Complete upgrade of the interior sidewalls and roof ceiling of the Carter Activities Center. 47,428 – Install new 24 gauge metal standing seam roof on Winter’s Hall. 25,000 – Reshaping large gulley between collegiate baseball and softball fields, including adding pipes, smaller tree/brushremoval, and making into a park like setting. 22,279 – Correct roof line and install new 24 gauge metal standing seam roof on Wilson Hall. 15,000 – 3 new Computer Servers with software for overall campus technology needs for students, classrooms, onlinelearning and faculty/staff offices. 12,360 – Replacing old 2x4 ceiling tile inside Cafeteria with new 2x2 ceiling tile and grids. This will greatly improve thelook of kitchen and dining areas and add to the new flooring installed recently. 10,000 – Build 2 new offices in Administration Building. 7,250 – Battle of the Youth Groups: 3 day event for 7th-12th graders to encourage attending college. Expenses for food,activities and event t-shirt. He is a member ofthe Pioneer Baseball Team and plans to go into Physical Therapy after his time at CRC.JOHNSON NAMED CRC’S 2017 DISTINGUISHED ALUMNUSRichard Johnson stepped onto the campus of Crowley’s Ridge College as a freshmanin the fall of 1982. He graduated with an AA degree in May of 1984. While at CRC,he was involved in many activities. He was a member of Choralaires, Daybreak (asecular, instrumental singing group), and Timothy Club. He served as SGA Presidenthis sophomore year and worked in the Admissions office to help recruit new CRCstudents. He met his wife, Andrea (Carlile) while he was a CRC freshman and she wasa junior at CRA. They married in May, 1985. He went to Harding University immediatelyafter graduating CRC and graduated with a BA in Business Management in 1986.He and Andrea have three children; Brandon, who is married to Lacey, and theirdaughter, Hallie, Bethanie and her fiance, Seth Coleman, and Logan who is a collegefreshman.Richard JohnsonRichard received his masters degree in Nonprofit Management from Regis University in December 2000. Heis currently working on his doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from Abilene Christian University withanticipated graduation in August, 2019.With more than 20 years’ experience in working with nonprofits and churches, Richard became the VicePresident for Advancement for Crowley’s Ridge College in April, 2007. He stays busy writing grants, helpingdonors with planned giving and estate planning, and coordinating CRC’s fundraising programs.He and Andrea are active members of 7th and Mueller Church of Christ, where he has served as an elder sinceOctober, 2014. CRC is very honored and proud to present this year’s Distinguished Alumnus Awardto Richard Johnson.Page 6

He averaged 21.5 PPGwith a 49.6 FG%, 41.9 3-PT%, and 83.3 FT%.Cade Niswonger (left) was named Scholar-Athlete for the NCCAAD1. He led his team as a senior point guard on and off the court. He hasmaintained a 3.4 cumulative GPA.WOMEN’S BASKETBALL:Hannah Willard (left) was named First Team All Region for theNCCAA Central Region! She averaged 17.15 PPG and ranked10th in NAIA D1 in Total Scoring.Sarah West (right) was named Scholar-Athlete for theNCCAA D1. West led her team as a senior leader and madegood things happen on the defensive end for the Lady Pioneers.She has maintained at least a 3.4 cumulative GPA.Elly Burrell (bottom) was named NCCAA Student-Athlete ofthe Week in February, 2017. Burrell finished the regular seasonwith 8 double-doubles and averaged 12 points on 47.2 percentshooting, 12.7 rebounds, and 2 assists per game.Special Note: CRC’s Women’s basketball team received an at-large bidto the NCCAA National Tournament in Winona Lake, Indiana.This wasthe first time in the women’s program history!Page 7

Veteran Preachers to be HonoredAn Honors Banquet for “Veteran Preachers of the Gospel” will be held 6:00 p.m., Friday,June 23, 2017 on the campus of Crowley’s Ridge College. It promises to be the largest singlegathering of veteran preachers ever gathered in Northeast Arkansas. The last such meetingwas held over forty years ago. Preachers 70 and older will be honored with banquettickets for them and their spouse, plus other recognitions. Tickets for family and thepublic will be 12.50 each to cover the cost of the meal.The Honors event is intended to show appreciation to those who have served for aremarkable time, to bring brethren together in strength, to add focus on the need for morepreachers, and to share in fellowship with some of the best Bible minds in our region.An added feature of the Preacher’s Banquet will include a museum of early relics from churchesin the region. A sample of items planned for inclusion are: Joe Blue’s pulpit, Monea Bible College clock, the famedCounty Line Bible School bell, hundred year old slatted pews, pulpit chairs imported from France, old sermoncharts, early song books, Bibles, financial records, and more.
