PAGE 1PRAIRIE POINTERAUGUST 1, 2018Mee ng 2nd Monday of each month atSt. Thomas MoreCatholic Church2900 Kimball AveManha an, KansasSocial me at 8:30 a.m.; mee ng begins at 9 a.m.KPQG website:h ps://kpqg.wordpress.com/HELP WANTED! VOLUNTEERS NEEDED NOW!This month's le er is a request for volunteers—please step forward now to help!1. Pumpkin Patch really is just around the corner. Please sign up at our nextmee ng to work a shi during the event. You may not yet know of scheduling conflicts October 5—6, but, the sooner Kathy Triple knows she has enough workers, the be er. Kathy will announce at our mee ng other ways you can help.2. A er many years of service, Nelda Elder will be re ring from the Library Commi ee. We need another member as soon as possible who is physically able to pushthe loaded library carts each month. Ruth Presco will explain to this volunteerwhat being on the Library Commi ee entails.3. Pat King has graciously stored the guild's quilt racks and other supplies for ourbiennial quilt shows at her home for years. She is willing to keep them un l needednext year, but a er that, we will need to find another place. If you have a large spaceat your home or know of another loca on to store them, we need your help.4. Speaking of the quilt show, if you would be willing to help form a special commi ee to inves gate alterna ve loca ons and/or ways to display the quilts, it wouldbe very helpful. I am not asking you to head the 2019 Quilt Show, but to do someearly research into possible alterna ves for se ng up, displaying the quilts, possibledates and loca ons for next year’s show.5. Phyllis Norton has generously stored Quilts From the Heart supplies and finished quilts at her home. However, she, too, will be unable to con nue storingthese, though she plans to con nue to be part of our guild's philanthropic program.Again, if you have space or know of another loca on for storage, please let us know.6. It's me to start the annual nomina on process to fill guild posi ons for2019. We need at least of one or two members to join with two of our currentboard members to help with this important task.7. Finally, if the nomina ng commi ee asks you to fill a posi on, please seriouslyconsider the request and say, "Yes!" Be er yet, don't wait to be asked—let a commi ee member know how you will serve and be involved , not just entertained.I know you hear this yearly, but it's true and worth repea ng: Many jobs need tobe done to keep our guild ac ve, produc ve, and growing. Most jobs require asmall, individual commitment of me, but collec vely they reflect a tremendousamount of effort. Thank you for considering the above requests and contact me orany other member of the Board to let us know how you will help.Be y Frank,KPQG 2018 President
