Before running the installer, be sure to backup all existing Oracle HealthcareFoundation schemas and any customizations. Before running the installer, make sure that the ORACLE HOME and PATHenvironment variables are setup in your session. For example, export ORACLE HOME /u01/app/oracle/product/122010export PATH PATH: ORACLE HOME/bin When re-executing the installer due to a failure, enter the same details in thequestion prompting phase at all times. Do not delete any objects in the installationfolder. When re-executing the installer, if you receive OUI-10030 error messages, ignorethe messages to continue using the existing Oracle Healthcare Foundationinstallation HOME path.1-2

Chapter 1Supported Upgrade Paths Convert the installer execution shell to an SH shell as the installer script executesin the SH shell of the Linux OS. Text enclosed within in the following chapters indicate parameters and youmust provide an appropriate value.Supported Upgrade PathsThe following are the supported upgrade paths: HDWF 6.1/OHADI 3.1 to Oracle Healthcare Foundation 8.0 Oracle Healthcare Foundation 7.0.1 to Oracle Healthcare Foundation 8.0 Oracle Healthcare Foundation 7.1 to Oracle Healthcare Foundation 8.0 Oracle Healthcare Foundation 7.1.x to Oracle Healthcare Foundation 8.0 Oracle Healthcare Translational Research 3.1.0.2/3.1.0.3/3.1.0.4 to OracleHealthcare Foundation 8.0The Oracle Healthcare Foundation 8.0 Middle Tier upgrade is supported fromOracle Healthcare Foundation 7.1.x (see Middle-Tier Upgrade on the Primary Node ).To upgrade the Middle Tier from Oracle Healthcare Foundation 7.0.1 or 7.1,uninstall the existing oh domain and applications and install Oracle WebLogicServer 12.2.1.4.0, then do a fresh Oracle Healthcare Foundation 8.0 Middle tierinstallation (see Middle-Tier Installation).Where to Find the Product DocumentationThe product documentation is available from the following locations: My Oracle Support (https://support.oracle.com) Oracle Help Center ces/oracle-healthcare-foundation/index.html)If the software is available for download, the documentation set is available from theOracle Software Delivery Cloud (https://edelivery.oracle.com). 2Data Model InstallationThis chapter describes how to install the Oracle Healthcare Foundation Data Model. There are two ways to install the Data Model, depending on how you create the userschemas. The installer can create the user schemas during the installation or you cancreate them manually, prior to the installationFor more information, see: Install the Data Model without Pre-created User Schemas Install the Data Model with Pre-created User SchemasInstall the Data Model without Pre-created User SchemasThis section describes how to install the Data Model by using the installer to createfresh user schemas. Please complete the following: Check Prerequisites Prepare the Installer Run the Installer Check the InstallationCheck Prerequisites-PrerequisitesInstall Oracle Database 12.2.0.1.0 or 19.3 Enterprise Edition.Make sure that the database compatible parameter is set to 12.2.0.1.0 or higher byconnecting to the DBA user and running the query below:select * from v parameter where name 'compatible';Ensure the parameter is set to 12.2.0.1.0 or higher. If you are installing Oracle Healthcare Foundation on an Exadata environment, apply theOracle database patch 19562381 (Doc ID 19562381.8) and patch 31182793.Ensure the latest database patches are applied on Oracle Database version 12.2.0.1.0: Patch 30116802 - GI Oct 2019 Release Update 12.2.0.1.191015 or laterNote:Apply the latest CPU patch for the Oracle Database.Create a container database with a single pluggable database instance with the help of aOracle Database Administrator (optional).2-1

Chapter 2Install the Data Model without Pre-created User Schemas-PrerequisitesMake sure the database initialization parameter MAX STRING SIZE is set toSTANDARD (default value).Note that this parameter cannot be changed to STANDARD if the database is created withMAX-STRING SIZE set to EXTENDED.Set the NLS LENGTH SEMANTICS parameter to either CHAR or BYTE, based on yourrequirements. For Oracle Healthcare Foundation Globalization Support information, see Oracle DatabaseGlobalization Support Guide and set your database character set accordingly.Make sure that the password expiry notification message does not display for the sys andsystem schemas. To create an encrypted tablespace during the installation, set up your environment fortablespace encryption. For more information, see Oracle Database Advanced SecurityGuide 12.2. The installer only creates the tablespace and does not handle prerequisiteslike setting up the keystore, opening it, and so forth. The installer only checks whether thekeystore is open if the sys and system passwords are provided during the installation.Verify if you have a database license for Advanced Compression.Set the GLOBAL NAMES database initialization parameter to false. If you are installing Oracle Healthcare Foundation on an Exadata database machine, seethe Exadata Machine and Exadata Implementation sections in the Oracle HealthcareFoundation Programmer's Guide. For remote installations, make sure the following are available on the client machine: Oracle Linux 6.7 (64-bit) OS or aboveOracle Database 12.2.0.1.0 client with the Sqlplus utilityVerify the database connectivity through SERVICE NAME. Make sure that you areconnecting to the pluggable database (PDB) if installing in a container-based environment.Verify the database connectivity using the following command:SQL connect username@hostname:port number/servicename orsqlplususername@'(DESCRIPTION (ADDRESS (PROTOCOL TCP)(HOST dbhost)(PORT dbport)
