Remember, MOST band members are Honors or AP students.Discipline – From long rehearsals to memorization, this discipline of being a part of a teamlike marching band is experience that you’ll take with you through life.Teamwork / Trust – Every part of a team is important. Every part contributes.Camaraderie – Building Relationship and Friendships.Sacrifice – Personal sacrifices for the good of the teamResilience – YOU WILL MESS UP! Just keep swimming Just keep swimmingFlexibility – Combined with Creative Problem Solving. Taking constructive criticism andmaking adjustments where needed.Manners and Respect- We represent McEachern HS, Powder Springs Community. YOU’RE A PART OF THE BAND BOOSTER ORGANIZATION!Parent Involvement A Successful Band ProgramGetting involved in the band program will give you the opportunity to share with your child thelast four years of their education, these years that go so fast and are rarely enjoyed bymany parents. Your child might say they rather not have you around, but most parentsactually learn that in reality they appreciate your involvement and will thank you in thefuture.McEachern High School is fortunate to have two directors, and a wonderful staff. The bandparents are needed to support the directors, and help with the details of fundraising, transporting, feeding and watering an organization this size. The band needs parents to beable to function; it is for this reason that we know you’ll get involved. Join at minimum oneof the many committees; we need your help. Grandparents, siblings, or any member of yourfamily can get involved and make a difference. Be active in the McEachern Band BoosterAssociation (MBBA), it is a great way to meet the parents and the kids your children will bespending much of their time with for the next few months. The only way to get to “know” the band is to get involved! Please volunteer throughout the fallin any capacity – this will give you great insight into our program. Please attend our Band Booster meetings! The schedule will be posted on the band website.Decisions are made that directly affect your children and your feedback is valuable. This yearwe will see a large surge in parent involvement to ensure a healthy parent organization thatis fully devoted to the forward progress and momentum of the McEachern Band Program.
